Right, I have worked in the motortrade so will try to reply to the 2 comments aboce seen as though noone else has.

Why is a <a href="http://www.carcheckuk.co.uk" rel="nofollow">car check</a> so expensive.

Well the reason is they have to buy the data from various sources as well as using free data and then need to corolate the data advertise it and give garuntees with it and make a tidy profit. The car check you bought from the RAC was using data from hpi however this was a promotion only and you can no longer get them for £5 they are now £15

You can get a car check which includes make, model, bodystlye and derivative check for free and then upgrade to find out if it's stolon etc for £3.95

OK comment 2, bought a car with outstanding finance.

Speak to citizens advice as they should be able to help. Tell the finance company you were unaware of any outstanding finace and if applicable tell them the seller told you it was clear of any finance.

If you bought the car in good faith and were unaware they should be unable to take it back but don't offer to give it too them. They may try to scare you but dont let them and make sure you send all corresponce reccorded delivery and keep copies. You should be fine.
