Some of the most famous historic shapes that may have fallen by the wayside are slowly making their way back into car culture – and this sportbrake from Jaguar using the XF platform is the fruit of this trend.
Whilst the Sportbrake’s overall length is 5mm greater, weight has also risen by almost 70kg. That’s a negligible difference when the chassis structure matches the strength of the conventional XF saloon. Thus the brilliant driving dynamics remain, but with the practicality of a load volume equating to 1,675-litres!
A range of practical features make this a truly stand out load lugger, including:
- Remote fold levers to lower the rear seats
- Boot soft close
- LED spotlight focused on the ground to assist loading
- Split floor panel to enable secured smaller loads
- Tray mounted under boot floor to protect valuable items
The Jaguar XF Sportbrake is available in two flavours – 2.2-litre four cylinder and 3.0-litre six-cylinder, each directing drive through the rear wheels via an advanced eight-speed automatic gearbox. Prices are to be set to announced third quarter 2012. Keep checking back for more information on this seriously luxurious mover.
