Harry Metcalfe Discusses His Pagani Zonda

January 17, 2012

If you truly love cars, then you will appreciate what Harry Metcalfe (evo magazine’s Founder and Editorial Director) has to say about the Pagani Zonda C12S that he owns. Yes, you read it right. Metcalfe owns this stunning piece of Italian exotica. He is a very lucky man. Few cars capture the imagination in a [...]

Top Gear Drives Some Hot Hatches In Lucca

October 24, 2011

Wouldn’t you just love to whizz around the Italian city of Lucca as the lads are doing here? If so, which of the 3 hot hatches would you choose between the Fiat 500 Abarth, The Renaultsport Clio and the Citroen DS3 Racing? My money would be on the Fiat 500 Abarth, it is the only [...]

Morgan’s Three Wheeler Reviewed By Fifth Gear

August 4, 2011

It’s an extremely strange one this. A V twin bike engine fitted to a three wheeled vehicle. Lightweight and a little bit old fashioned looking, this Morgan is not for everyone. But then, when has Morgan ever produced cars that are? Wonderful. I love it. I’ve no doubt that Hammond will have one ordered already.

Did Everyone See The New Top Gear?

January 29, 2011

I might be a little behind the times given that it was way back on Sunday, but I’ve only just gotten around to watching the new episode of Top Gear. Frankly, I was not at all disappointed. The Skoda Yeti review was superb and showed just how damn good the small van/4×4/people carrier/capable urban car [...]

Top Gear Coming To An End?

December 22, 2009

I read today that it’s possible that Top Gear is coming to an end. Were the worst to happen and it left our screen, I’d be genuinely gutted. It is more inventive, more entertaining and perhaps more insightful than 90% of other TV on at the moment. It’s also not a soap, ‘reality TV’, self [...]

Top Gear’s BMW Z4M Review

December 16, 2009

Richard Hammond is one lucky fella, taking the Porsche Boxster S round the track as well as the BMW Z4M. Both great looking fun sports cars – but which would you have? The Porsche arguably has the badge but the Z4 for me has the looks (four exhausts, huge air intakes etc). And what’s that [...]

Top Gear’s V8 Rocking Chair

December 6, 2009

This is one of my favourite clips from Top Gear – even though it doesn’t actually feature a car! It does though have a 6.2 litre V8 Corvette engine that powers a rocking chair. Absolute madness, but brilliant. Still, for my money, nothing has eclipsed the Rocket Robin that sadly didn’t get to space but [...]

Oh No! Richard Hammond Is On Crutches!

November 3, 2009

Well, the plucky little fella is at it again – this time injuring himself apparently by going running. Whilst this doesn’t compare at all with his previous injuries sustained in his crash driving a drag car, nonetheless the other string of incidents shows that he’s more than a little accident prone. Nonetheless, as a Top [...]
