I own a 3 year old Corsa D and from the day I got it iv been having problems the car has been recalled twice but there is still many problems with this car that has me out off pocket to fix. The main problems I'm having is with the electric's. My handbrake makes
A "Bing" noise when I'm driving, my fans only work on 1 speed setting all others have stopped Working, my outomatic window wipers turn on but they won't turn off and my car charger socket fuse's anything I put into it. Iv been told this will cost me well over a grand to fix. And all this is only with 13,000 miles on the clock. I Have to say I would never buy another Vauxhall again.

I would like to know if any one else has had any of these problems.

This is a very interesting discussion. Seems we in South Africa have the same issues or at least me.

I too own a 2007 1.4 Astra H. bought the vehicle with less than 12 000km on the clock in 2008. I also had a handbrake failure which caused allot of damage to the rear of the vehicle. Car rolled down the street (backwards) into a brick wall, got to the vehicle and handbrake lever still in the upright position, this was confirmed by the police as they were close by when this happened. Luckily no one got injured.

After further inspection at the GM approved panel beaters, they could not find one single fault with the handbrake. When i eventually got the vehicle back I booked it in at a GM Dealership for a service, and handbrake check, still they could not see or trace any fault.

Wonder how many of my countrymen have suffered the same feat.

@f1mad: Oh dear who needs to grow up? You can't get out of a hole by digging some more.

I was wrong about you being ignorant, that's a label I use when giving somebody the benefit of the doubt - never assume malice whilst stupidity is possible, and never assume stupidity if ignorance will fit. I'm long past assuming you're ignorant.

I'm also past believing you're any kind of expert, at least not one that anybody respects.

So, have a nice life trolling [1]. If that's what you do for fulfilment these days, then it's sad, but whatever takes your fancy.

Yes I am surprised when my handbrake has released itself on a very slight incline! This clearly should not happen. Many cars have parked in the same spot but this has never happened before. I would only park 'in gear' when on a steep incline, or in a situation with which I deemed it necessary. Please give people a bit of credit for deciding a safe situation. There is no getting away from the fact that Vauxhall hand brakes are badly designed and not trustworthy.
Mr f-1mad You are an annoying 'think you know it all' with a pathetic wit. I also hope you never park near me ha ha ha.

F1mad, are you a sponsor of Vauxhall? I've compared several makes of cars against Vauxhall, and Vauxhall are years behind VW, Honda, even Ford and Citroën. It's not just the handbrake but clutch mechanisms, but you would probably say its a drivers issue, actually a vauxhall technician told me that the Insignia could not take the punishment of a Mercedes. His words not mine. Get over it Vauxhall are crud nowadays, if you have one giving you grief, go on their Facebook site and give 'em hell, maybe they will wake up.
