BMW may well have created the ‘Sports Activity Vehicle’ segment with the X5, but this X4 concept blows just about everything else out of the water. With sweeping coupe styled lines and a mean front end, this car is being billed as a ‘Sports Activity Coupe’. For traditionalists, yes it does have four doors. However, it does have that wonderful raked roofline.
The BMW X4 production model rolls out of the factory for its market launch, scheduled for 2014. The second Sporty Activity Coupé in the brand´s model range will be built at BMW Plant Spartanburg in the USA, the competence centre for BMW X models which also produces the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X3.
So what do you make of it? I think it’s striking and impressive. Definitely goes on my list!
Anyone else think it has some visual cues of the new Volvo S60? In particular the muscular rear haunches?
Your comment forced me to google those Volvo images and I would say that it definitely does in the area you’ve mentioned! The BMW ones do look a bit more elegant I have to say though, don’t you think?
