Car Articles Supercar Of The Year 2010

December 8, 2010 by Mr Butterscotch 2 Comments

I’m not convinced that the award could have gone to any other car in the world when this thing exists. More power, a greater top speed (a verified 267 miles per hour has been reached in one of these) and the same amazing engineering put the Veyron SuperSport in a league of… One.

There is nothing else like this car. It has luxury, power, style and grace. It also has genuine ability, being comfortable cruising at ‘normal’ speeds as well as being able to tear up a race track or an Autobahn.

On Top Gear, the Veyron has been described as a ‘Concorde moment’. I hope that isn’t the case, as we all know that in a newer age of austerity the Concorde had to go. However, it was a pinnacle of engineering achievement, the likes of which we may well not see for a very long time. You can keep your stupid electric cars as long as I can take the Veyron.

It’s not even about that insane top speed – the SuperSport really is the true, complete package. The effort, man hours and sheer work that goes into even producing one of these monsters represents exactly what Supercars should be about. It’s the car that boys have on their bedroom walls and playboys drive out on the town.

I’m sure it’s one of those cars that if you have to ask, it’s too much. Rough estimate? Maybe £50,000?
