It seems that more regular sunny days are upon us, at least for the time being. This means that all of the flaws, imperfections, bird droppings and scratches become that little bit more easy to see for the rest of the world. However, it isn’t just for aesthetic reasons that you should keep your car clean. A number of problems can arise as a result of a dirty car:
- Bird droppings can cause permanent damage to paintwork. It might not seem it at the time but leaving that guano on there can seriously harm the layers of beautiful paintwork that adorn your car. The chemicals can prove very coarse and may cause damage over time resulting in oxidation or worse.
- Brake dust could damage expensive alloy wheels. No-one wants to pay out more than they have to, so make sure you aren’t paying for alloy wheel cleaning/repair. Brake dust can eventually compromise integrity if it is left to eat through the metal.
- Bacteria can build up inside your car, making it a breeding ground for bugs. Clean it as well as the outside to make it a nicer, healthier environment for you and your passengers.
- Have your air-con re-gassed/serviced. As the above point, it can harbour bacteria, but it can also allow pollen and other allergens into your car.
- Any contact with a dirty car can leave a mess on hands or clothes. A clean car with circumvent this!
