The Honda Civic Hatch VTi-S was unveiled in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and has been available in the UK and Australia since early 2012. This reliable compact car boasts an impressive range of features including improved aerodynamics and Honda’s fuel-saving Eco Assist. Recent studies in Japan have found that this patented feature can save an average of up to 10% of fuel after 300 drives.
This model finds itself much more refined than previous models, with improvements made to suspension, handling and overall in-car noise. Despite being slightly larger than its predecessor, it runs on a wheelbase shorter by 30mm. USB and iPod docking are included as standard, as well as alloy wheels and tyre pressure monitors.
Upgrade options include cruise control, reversing camera automatic headlights/wipers and Bluetooth audio options, while standard safety features give six airbags, tyre deflation warning systems and Vehicle Stability Assist.
Comparably, the UK Civic matches up to the Australian version almost exactly thanks to the European manufacture. UK prices range from £16,495 OTR to £26,595 OTR, dependant on engine size, fuel and trim options. Australian prices start at $24,990 for a standard manual model. Both come in a range of colours, with the UK version offering slightly more with the inclusion of Woodland Green, Urban Titanium and Polished Metal.
