The Peugeot INSTINCT is the latest concept car from the French marque. This shooting brake offers a glimpse into the future and features a fully autonomous driving mode. The car is a plug in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and produces 300PS in total from both engines.
The Peugeot INSTINCT has a huge wealth of technology on board, including cameras in lights to enable a variety of driver assistance systems. Standard and autonomous driving modes both offer driver interaction via the i-Device. The i-Device enables the driver to switch between modes so they can take action, like overtaking the car in front.
Matthias Hossann, Head of Peugeot Concept cars said: “With the Peugeot INSTINCT Concept and its Responsive i-Cockpit, we are building on the factors that have made the brand’s latest models so successful. We are creating new forms of driving pleasure. These may come from the interfaces, the architecture or the styling. There is no reason why a self-driving car should be dull to look at or to experience.”
If this is the way in which the future of car development is going, we are certainly very excited to see the time when concept becomes reality.
