This is the new Citroen DS5. Not only does it have some wonderful bold styling on the outside, but the inside is Aviation inspired, with a cockpit styled roof and cabin seemingly shrink wrapped around the driver. Even better is the distinctly modern drivetrain offering four wheel drive – it is a bespoke Hybrid4 full-hybrid diesel 200bhp powertrain, which emits from 99g/km CO2.
Naturally the car comes with a whole host of safety features including a 5 star NCAP rating and an impressive 97% score in the Safety Assist category. The DS5 features active safety equipment (EBD, EBA, ABS, ESP, intelligent traction control) and powerful brakes – thanks in particular to 340mm diameter front discs on most versions.
DS5 pricing starts at £22,400 for the e-HDi 110 DSign, rising to £32,200 for the range-topping Hybrid4 DSport. The most popular models are likely to be the HDi 160 DStyle manual and automatic versions.
It’s a very nice looking car, crisp and luxury. and the 200bhp hybrid looks vey interesting too.
