Ghostbusters, Mission Impossible and Quadrophenia fans should vote now if they want to see their favourite classic film top the tables.
Classic motoring fans have less than two weeks to vote for their favourite classic motoring movie and be in with a chance of winning a weekend break, stunt driving course, cinema passes and tickets to the Footman James Classic Motor Show.
The competition poll forms part of a brand new ‘Classic Film Festival’ which is being run by show organisers Clarion Events and Footman James, specialist vehicle insurance broker and title sponsor of the Footman James Classic Motor Show, which takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 16-18 November.
To celebrate the best classic motoring films of all time fans can vote for their favourites in six categories: favourite classic motoring movie; favourite classic car in the movies, favourite classic bike in the movies, favourite classic car chase, favourite classic in television and the classic they would most like to see on the big screen.
Making the running so far are: the Mini Cooper in The Italian Job and the Mustang in Bullit; the Harley Davidson in Easy Rider and the Triumph in The Great Escape; the car chase in The Blues Brothers and Ronin; the Mini in Mr Bean and Jaguar MK2 in Inspector Morse, while the E Type Jaguar and Fiat 500 are popular requests for classics to star on screen.
Classic fans can vote for their favourite film, car or bike by completing the poll on the Footman James’ website or on the Footman James Classic Motor Show website. Fans that complete their details will automatically be entered into a free draw to win a thrilling stunt drive, a weekend break in Birmingham, cinema passes and tickets to the Show.
A selection of the top films in each category will be shown as a Classic Film Festival series at Birmingham’s Electric Cinema, the oldest working cinema in the UK, in the weeks leading up to the show. The full category winners will be screened in the Footman James’ Vintage Cinema at the November Show.
To make sure your favourite classic of yesteryear in the metal or on the screen is part of the festival line up, log onto the website and get voting, it may be your last chance!
