A Classic Way To See In New Year 2015

December 6, 2014 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

A pair of socks, a set of hankies or a ticket to a feast of classic motoring… which would the petrolhead in your family really appreciate this Christmas?

If, as we suspect, it’s the latter then we have the answer. It’s the inaugural London Classic Car Show, and it will offer sights and sounds guaranteed to thrill any self-respecting car fan.

Tickets for the show, to be held at ExCeL in London’s Docklands from 8-11 January, are on sale now with prices from as little as £22. Also available from the show website – www.thelondonclassiccarshow.co.uk – are special Premium Tickets and access to the exclusive Preview Evening, just the thing for any Christmas stocking.

One of the inaugural London Classic Car Show’s major attractions will be The Grand Avenue, a motoring catwalk along which 40 classics – four from each decade of the 20th century – will be driven, transforming the show from static exhibition into a moving experience… one with a V8 and V12 soundtrack.

Many of the world’s rarest and most desirable cars will be on show and as well as stunning road cars there will be dozens of significant race and rally cars, too.

Two independent curators will be making their own marks on the show. Top Gear’s James May will be revealing what he considers to be the Most Significant Car Of All Time while TV chef James Martin will not only be displaying his private collection of classics but will also be running the James Martin Classic Café offering up ‘good, simple, grub’ to visitors.

Other features include the Motor Sport Hall of Fame, a tribute to the sport’s greatest names while the 60thanniversary of the dramatic Citroën DS will be celebrated with many examples of ‘The Goddess’ – as well as a first look at the new DS brand – on show. There will also be displays from leading classic dealers and specialists.

The London Classic Car Show is the latest creation from Brand Events, the company behind all-action car shows like Top Gear Live. Head to the website now and find early bird discounts which reduce the on-the-door standard entry price from £25 to just £22.

Also available are family and group tickets, premium entry packages and access to the exclusive Preview Evening on the opening night, Thursday 8th January. Premium Tickets, which have limited availability, will give visitors access to the premium enclosure with a view of The Grand Avenue’s turning circle, a drink and complimentary cloakroom plus a free copy of Octane magazine and the official event handbook.
