Donnington Priory, the country home of H&H’s associate fine art company Dreweatts provided a backdrop for some of the best classic cars being sold on 8th August 2012. Topping the table was a splendid 1967 Aston Martin DB6 which you can see pictured above. Gorgeous, isn’t it?
The car is finished in California Sage Green paintwork and is fitted with a refurbished engine that had been upgraded to 4.2-litre specification. With just 700 miles covered since the completion of the aforementioned work, this ‘matching numbers’ Aston was knocked down for £164,640.
Other lots that performed beyond expectation included a rare ‘barn find’ Riley RMC 2.5 Litre that made £16,240 and a delightful c.1928 Austin Seven ‘Chummy’-style Pick-Up that changed hands for a not insignificant £13,440. Further information about this and other H&H sales can be found at www.handh.co.uk. The company’s next event, the first of its new ‘Open’ sales, takes place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire over the weekend of August 25/26 in conjunction with the Coventry Festival of Motoring.
