Three new cars have come in at the maximum safety rating from Euro NCAP – which can only mean good things for us. The new Peugeot 208, Hyundai i30 and Mazda CX-5 have all been given the maximum possible safety rating. Particularly of interest to us car geeks is the Mazda CX-5 steel, which is 1,800 MPa ultra high-tensile. It is the strongest ever made in a production car but is also extremely light. The Hyundai i30 scores a class leading 90% score in the child crash test whilst the Peugeot 208 has a particularly driver centric approach to safety.
There you have it – three very safe, interesting and versatile cars. My choice? A top spec Hyundai i30 should just about have everything you could possibly want in a car, though I don’t think you could go wrong with the either two either.
