The 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the first event officially in the UK to showcase the Koenigsegg Agera One:1. It may sound like an awful name, but it actually has meaning. This is the first homologated production car in the world with one Megawatt of power, with the astonishing bhp to kg kerb weight ratio of 1:1, hence the name and ‘Megacar’ moniker.
It is anticipated that the One:1 will be the world’s fastest homologated production car, with a simulated top speed of >440km/h achieved in testing, and will join an illustrious and unrivalled group of cars (including the Koenigsegg Agera R) to have broken world speed and performance records using Michelin tyres.
The One:1 programme, a celebration Agera edition marking 20 years of Koenigsegg, has already been fully pre-sold, prior to its introduction to the market.
Keep up to date with all the action in the Michelin Supercar Run and much more at the Goodwood Festival of speed by following www.twitter.com/MichelinTyres, liking www.facebook.com/MichelinUK or logging on towww.live.michelin.co.uk.
So, is the Koenigsegg Agera One:1 just too much, or is it exactly what you’re looking for? The performance will certainly be nothing less than spectacular but has it lost soul in chasing the big numbers?
