Here’s a quick overview of what exactly was announced which has an impact on motorists:
- The fuel duty of 3.02 pence per litre increase in August will remain
- Car tax will rise in line with the level of inflation
So – we’re going to pay more (yet again) for fuel despite no significant increases in the price of oil. The tax increase in line with inflation was hardly unexpected and is not as problematic. Given how almost everyone is facing pocket pinching measures at the moment, do you feel that the fuel duty increase should have remained? There doesn’t have been a rationale set out by the Government and when we already have some of the most expensive fuel in Europe this must surely be a bone of contention for many of us motorists.
Company car tax looks to have taken a hit too.
Can’t believe the government aproved the fuel duty rise though! pathetic idea! as usual, give to the rich, take from the poor.
