The Ariel Atom – Reviewed By Clarkson

August 20, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

There’s no doubt that this is one of the best Top Gear reviews ever. The Ariel Atom is simply a fantastic car (one which I should be driving on my next track day) and Clarkson is clearly enjoying the ride.

Do You Use Fuel Additives?

August 19, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch 2 Comments

STP Petrol Treatment

There are a variety of additives and treatments out there that make claims on being able to boost your vehicle’s fuel economy and power. So, how do they work? Well, they remove dirt, gum, varnish and other negative elements from today’s fuel. By removing these elements, the engine can work more freely. Carburettors, fuel injectors […]

Love The Beast – Coming Soon?

August 18, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Eric Bana in Love The Beast

I’ve been desperate to see a film titled ‘Love The Beast’ for a long time now. It stars Eric Bana and is a documentary exploring his 25 year history with his first car, “The Beast” – a 1974 Ford Falcon that he bought at the age of 15. It’s no surprise that the two have […]

Exporting British Made Cars – The Honda Civic Type R

August 17, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Honda Civic Type R

British made cars of a certain era are known for their unreliability and generally being ill-put together. These days though, it’s de rigueur that some of the best manufacturing in the world takes place on our own fair isle, which should mean it comes as no surprise that Honda is capitalising on this and exporting […]

The Top Ten Scrappage Scheme New Cars

August 16, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch 1 Comment

It seems us Brits are a sucker for a bargain – over 155,000 orders have been made for cars under the scrappage scheme, giving some lucky buyers a saving of more than £2,000 when purchasing a new car. Here’s the top ten list of the best selling manufacturers and cars under the scheme: Hyundai (i10) […]

Car Companies Being Sold…

August 15, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

General Motors have stated that they have until the end of August to ship off Saab to a Swedish consortium (if this is old news to you, then let me explain – GM is another ‘victim’ of the global credit crunch and is now looked after by Mr Obama), so the future of the brand […]

The Auto Express New Car Awards

August 13, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Run every year, only cars that have been tested in right hand drive form are eligible to enter the Auto Express New Car Awards. There are 22 categories in total, many of which (including the sports car, hot hatch and roadster) will be hotly contested. So, is your car in there? Mine isn’t, but then […]

The Aston Martin Rapide

August 12, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Auto Express has a leaked image of the Aston Martin Rapide. What do you make of it? What I like is the look of the four individual bucket seats, the luxury look and the no doubt excellent interior quality. What do I not like? Well, I’m still less than impressed at the idea of taking […]

Schuey Calls Off F1 Return

August 11, 2009 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

In the worst news since Massa’s accident, it’s been revealed that Michael Schumacher will not be returning to the sport this season. His return has been cancelled due to a neck injury from a motorcycle accident earlier in the year. Here’s Schuey’s explanation in his own words: “Yesterday evening, I had to inform Ferrari President […]

Yamaha YZF R125

Well, it’s been about one month now that I’ve had my new motorbike (I know this, as the first service is after 6 weeks and it’s coming up very soon). I’m pleased to say there’s only been one drama which came from having to do an emergency stop. Beyond that, I’ve had a real blast […]
