If a sports car marque isn’t too careful, simply chopping off the roof to reach another market can cause problems. Scuttle shake for example, poorly fitting seals and extra weight can all be problems when a hard top is converted to be a ‘Spider’ variant. However, this is a McLaren – the 720S Spider no less. With that in mind, we highly doubt that there’d be any such problems in this case. What we would expect therefore an engineering marvel that gives all of the thrills offered by top down motoring, without any of the drawbacks in terms of driving dynamics.
