Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition

Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition

This is the new Vauxhall Corsa Black & White Limited Edition model. It features glacier white bodywork, black 17-inch twin spoke alloy wheels and extra detailing in the form of a black sapphire roof. It also has lowered suspension and a factory fitted VXR bodykit including a spoiler and skirts.

The interior includes a piano black centre console with contrasting white air vents and alloy pedals, along with Limited Edition badging throughout to remind you that you are sitting in something just a little bit special.

Standard specification on the Corsa Limited Edition also includes air con, fog lights, cruise control and CD changer with MP3 format including auxiliary connectivity. And as if the new Corsa wasn’t personalised enough already, a wide range of options can be specified including Bluetooth, electronic climate control and rear parking sensors.

In spite of its sporting intent, the new Corsa limited edition will be easy on the wallet and environment. Customers can choose from two frugal and efficient engines: an 85PS 1.2 16v VVT petrol, or the 75PS 1.3 CDTi ecoFLEX, with combined fuel consumption cycles of 53.3 and 65.7mpg respectively.

Emissions are also impressively low at 124g/Km for the 1.2 16v and 114g for the ecoFLEX model meaning that both engine variants qualify for the new zero first year VED banding.

Prices for the Corsa Limited Edition range from £13,995 for the 3-door 1.2 16v, to £15,400 for the 5-door ecoFLEX diesel.

The new Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition is available from next month until the end of the year.

It’s a good looking car, but you’re not going to win any races away from the lights. At keast it should be fairly easy to insure for young drivers.

matthew May 31, 2010 at 8:49 pm

i am looking at getting one on finance but living in germany cuz im in the army and dont no who 2 talk 2

Amy June 30, 2010 at 2:01 pm

I just bought this car today, I did want the vxr but being 19 and already having one claim against me the insurance companies pretty much laughed me out of the door. It looks like a vxr, but doesn’t cost me half the value of the car to insure.

will smyth August 2, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Why would you buy that car at that price when you can get a VXR Corsa for £13,000 brand new at peter vardy

michael kirk August 6, 2010 at 2:16 pm

i am michael kirk and i am looking to buy this car for my first car as i think its smart and would be an ace first car.

rob September 3, 2010 at 11:56 pm

yet another “limited” edition vauxhall. Theyre getting silly with them now.

P*$$es me off considering I paid £20,000 for a “limited” edition vxr nurburgring, the only white VXR at the time with checkers on.
stood out a mile at the time,

then came the arctic corsa, the bathurst vxr8… ok fair enough…
all where performance cars WORTHY of the titles VXR / limited edition

however…then came the “wannabe’s” sticking the nurburg checkers on standard astras and corsas, WHY?? Read what the checks and badges stand for and realise why they dont apply to your 1.2 ecotec.

However… now vauxhall themselves are selling these vxr styled “limited edition” go nowhere’s to the wannabes to cut out the hard work.
Limited editions are and have almost always been made as a high performance alternative to a popular car.
high end / high spec one off cars are for the big boys with the cash and enthusiasm for the brand and motorsport itself.
not for some 17 year olds birthday present so they can look “cool” going to college/uni in it.

when you hear a remus backfire, see a real vxr gun it like it was designed to, take a good look at the car you wished you could / Should have had, and realise you paid well over the odds for some black paint and a ltd edition badge.

johnl September 13, 2010 at 7:15 pm

just bought this car for my wife she wanted vxr but i said she would kill herself. then we seen this 1.2 special edition this car looks better than any other corsa on the road, no wonder if you bought a vxr and seen this with envy because its the dogs bollocks. ok wont win races but how fast can u drive thru a town. the 1,2 is great and a bit punchy about the town. oooohhhh the price let me tell yous, haggled with the price £9500 with three years serviceing and life time warranty….doesnt seem so bad now lads…eh.

craig September 14, 2010 at 4:23 pm

Rob you bought a vxr…hardly power and hardly gunning it anywhere compared to cars u should have bought for that money if you wanted power and speed.
Second of all not being funny or trying to bad mouth vauxhall but I mean, round the nurburg ring, hardly gonna beat times, not like its a skyline and its 13000, hardly ferrari money.

But anyways its a great looking car and if u buy it, get hold of black vxr wing mirrors as it looks better. Ask rob if you can buy his lol but yer looks good and great young drivers don’t have to drive bangers for first cars :)

Ollie September 28, 2010 at 6:07 pm

I think its a great looking car and i am currently looking to buy one myself, as for rob i think the VXR is a fantastic looking car but are you sure your not annoyed with the price you paid for your VXR as for the lookalike one thats out now ? no doubt your a typical obese man that struggles with the opposite sex (or same sex which ever lights your candle) so you thought you’d get yourself a “fast car” and all would be well :) and the way you go on about “gunning it” shouldnt you of gone for something more on the lines of like an EVO or subaru etc.

Matt November 8, 2010 at 10:59 pm

i just got one of these!!! wooo! its sexual. i had a white one with a vxr body kit on, and now upgraded to this one as it looks better with black roof and wheels :) dont really care about ‘power’. it looks nice :)

Mr Butterscotch November 13, 2010 at 2:23 pm

Hi Matt,

There’s no doubt that this Corsa is a good looking car. It also has excellent fuel economy figures.

kimberliner December 16, 2010 at 12:38 am

Hey all…
I am picking mine up on saturday… Lovly looking car… Also very good with a 5year old child…

jake December 19, 2010 at 10:29 pm

John January 12, 2011 at 10:54 am

These alternative Limited Additions to standard production cars give the opportunity to the normal punters to purchase a factory built Vauxhall with eye catching styling within a reasonable budget. These weren’t originally intended for further enhancements to the top end of the ranges, from memory one of the first Limited Editions Vauxhall introduced was the Club range applied to the modest Cavalier and Astra models and the body colour ………… Oh yeah WHITE! Keep ’em coming Vauxhall

neill January 24, 2011 at 7:20 pm

Has anybody seen this car in yellow????

Amy January 28, 2011 at 1:31 pm

Just Brought The New 11 Plate One Can’t Wait To pick It Up .. now with the choice off yellow n black or red n black but still had the white one lol but the others look very good impressed ! good looking car with a small engine fab cheaper insurance and less petrol so VxR owners please stop hating cause wer a bit more sensible :)

Hollydoc February 8, 2011 at 3:48 pm

Andrew McMillan February 14, 2011 at 8:38 pm

neill February 15, 2011 at 9:26 pm

Kyle February 18, 2011 at 6:39 pm

Ordered, facelift, 11 reg, graphics. £10700.
Have bought for it: HiD kit, decat manifold, rear box, DRLs, lowering springs and air filter. Pick it up march 10. It’ll do for the work run.

davieek February 20, 2011 at 1:53 pm

Went to my local dealer today appears the new facelift models they have there have the old style badge on the steering wheel and on the alloys strangeeee..

Charlotte February 20, 2011 at 9:46 pm

Just ordered my 11 plate Limited edition, cant wait to pick it up, good, sporty looks without having to pay high petrol, tax and running costs!! Traded my Tigra in as we are starting a family so needed the room, this gives us a practical, economical car without sacraficing looks! Well done Vauxhall!

adam February 23, 2011 at 6:03 pm

Just bought mine! new 11 plate with the facelift front and blue tooth. Cant wait to pick it up – never been so impulsive saw it on a billboard at the weekend and been haggling hard ever since finally sealed the deal today. Still have not seen one on the road

adam February 23, 2011 at 9:37 pm

hi agin, just been looking on the parkers review site and the spec pages i note it has day time running lights. Is this true? can any of you already lucky owners confirm ?

thanks all

Mr Butterscotch February 24, 2011 at 12:15 am

Hi Adam,

I can confirm that the latest Corsa does indeed come with daytime running lights as part of the rather upmarket package offered! However, I’m not an owner of said car unfortunately…

Neill February 24, 2011 at 1:12 am

i must admit im soo lookin 4ward to picking my white one up, but the red one looks dam fine

Pam February 25, 2011 at 2:36 pm

My son loves this car, and with 0% finance it may be possible to buy it. Can anyone give me ideas of insurance examples – that’s my main worry as he’s 17. Many thanks in advance for any indications.

adam February 25, 2011 at 10:50 pm

its group 7 so shouldnt be too bad but at 17! i would not like to dare think – good luck he is a lucky boy if you buy him one. Thats a lot of pocket money!

Neill February 26, 2011 at 12:05 am

the insurance for a 17 year old would be harsh i would have thought..

paulo March 2, 2011 at 11:12 am

just picked up a yellow one for my Mrs for 9.8k. before i part ex… remember swappage is only £500 so dont be conned by the salesmen (initial price is 9k on internet but almost impossible to get with Partners and swappage as part ex is usually worth more).. our local Bristol Street did a fair offer (i think). yellow is very pale – red is not very shiney – white is probably best but not on cheap offer

laura March 11, 2011 at 1:03 pm

I am still waiting for my red one! It was supposed to be delivered on the 1st!

dean March 14, 2011 at 7:32 pm

i orderd mine 5 mins ago pickin it up thurday in red 😀

alex March 14, 2011 at 10:38 pm

just bought 11 plate white/black with face lift! the 1.2 engine is great as ile be driving mine pritty damn slow thru manchester city centre!!

Andy March 20, 2011 at 9:33 pm

I picked up my Yellow Limited Edition Corsa on Fri 11th march, Brand new with just 11 miles on the clock, had it for 4 days then the ECU decided to pack up, my car has been sat back down at the Garage that it was purchased from. I have been told that they are not sure when they can fix the car as the ECU is on back order. So all in all not very happy with Vauxhall.

Ashley March 22, 2011 at 11:42 pm

Ordered a yellow limited edition one, looks the business, picking up next week. Decided was most unique as the only one of the colours featuring yellow stitching on the chairs and steering wheel which looks wicked ! Slightly worried after heard a couple of people mention issues with the ECU packing up but hopefully should be fine.

kate 87 March 24, 2011 at 8:39 pm

brought mine in november 1.2 in white.. had a faulty oil cap replaced that.. petrol is a JOKE putting £20 in every 3 days there telling me there isnt a problem, can any1 else tell me wot they u are puttin in!!!! only getting 37mpg… ALSO theres a problem with the clutch now and they have now told me its to do with the ECU but vauxhall wont replace it cuz its 2 expensive bloody joke.. im now rejecting the car.. has any1 had any of these problems.. xx

Andy March 25, 2011 at 1:34 pm

Hiya Kate, Cant tell u about the amount of petrol as mine broke down on me just after 130 miles, Im picking up another new 1 this afternoon, as I was told told the ECU on mine was faulty and they didnt know how long it would be until they could get a replacement ECU. I kicked up a right fuss and told them that I didnt want my 1st 1 fixing and that wanted a new 1. Had a right game with vauxhall but i just stood by my guns and got what I wanted in the end. Lets hope my Limited Edition Part 2 is better than my Limited Edition part 1 haha xx

Stephen Ng March 27, 2011 at 2:11 am

I have been looking at this car on the Corsa Site for 2 months now, Im due my driving test these couple of weeks, and have thought to purchase one of these as my first car (Im 27, and have put off learning to drive for 10 years). Im guessing going to a local garage will be cheaper than from the website?. I really dont know where to start to find dealers and whats the current price for the Corsa 1.2 LE?.

Neill March 27, 2011 at 6:04 pm

Kate 87, ive done just under 500 miles now & put in £50 so far

susan March 28, 2011 at 5:23 am

Picking up white one on Thursday, panicking a bit as ? at 50 I’m too old!! What is EDC seems to be causing problems?

mazza March 29, 2011 at 8:01 am

any one know of 0% finance on this car been offered 4.9 % price of 9600

Adam March 29, 2011 at 7:08 pm

At 9600 that sounds a great deal is it the face lift or old shape and what colour? I paid 10700 with 3.9% dint think u will find 0% anywhere . The yellow ones are cheaper as not so desirable although could be a good move as there won’t be many about in a few years for re sale.

Neill March 29, 2011 at 9:29 pm

Susan, don’t panic as im 42 and loving the car, & 0% finance at £9600 id say that is the old shape, if not then grab it!!, I paid 11k but I did order my facelift mid Feb & when it says Limited Edition then it should be Limited Edition, I drove past Bristol Street motors & they had 4 lined up all white lol

Lee April 5, 2011 at 7:28 am

I’ve just bought a White one and i cant wait to pick it up in 2 days, I traded in my 206 GTI180 as running cost are a joke, this car has the looks and so cheap to run, Who cares if its not the quickest off the lights, GET A LIFE and grow up boy racer Rob!!!

Ant April 11, 2011 at 8:14 pm

Haha to that guy with the vxr!! you are the only person to slate the new Limited Edition Corsa!! iv had mine a week now and im loving it!! its free car tax for a year and £90 each year on, cheap on petrol plus petrol prices are only rising and will never go back down so we are all laughing at you paying the expensive running costs of a vxr. dont buy a vxr!!

ross April 12, 2011 at 9:32 am

Im into the limited edition corsa as im only 18 and just get laughed at for a vxr but i must say i would give a left arm for a vxr but this corsa is the closest im goint to get to it and very cheap on fuel therfore everyones a winner.

john April 19, 2011 at 7:40 am

got a white one a couple of weeks ago new shape, put 200 miles on the clock, terrible noise from the front brakes, took it to dealers said nothing wrong, bring it back when it has 500 miles on the clock, paid £11500 for it,dont know how people are saying they got theres for under 11k searched the internet for ages before buying, can ayone tell me if there engine is tappy, mine is, dealer said its normal, dont think so,,,,

Lee April 30, 2011 at 2:41 pm

Just traded my Corsa vxr in for one of these. Vxr was fun for a few years but not worth the extra money. The money I’m saving on fuel and insurance I’m going to spend on track days.

Curtis Coombes May 8, 2011 at 12:29 pm

I’m looking at getting the Limited Edition in Yellow but bit worried when want to sell it as you don’t see many yellow cars. I have been quoted £13,700 for a 1.3 diesel….Can I also ask those that have already got one what do you do about having no spare?

Neill May 8, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Curtis, to be honest I have not yet seen a yellow one or red one on the road as of yet, & as for the spare what I did is bought a 2nd hand Corsa d wheel, i managed to get a 17″ and then joined the AA, so if I do get a flat ill just call them out to change it as I have no jack…..

Ashley May 8, 2011 at 6:53 pm

Curtis I got a Yellow one as more unique. Got the different seat and steering wheel stitching. I was sceptical about the colour but so happy with my choice and wont see another on the road. Seen loads of white ones though Limited edition …

Curtis May 8, 2011 at 7:56 pm

Neill and Ashley, thanks for your comments really appreciated. I already belong to the RAC so sounds a good idea to get a spare, I have seen them on Ebay. I noticed someone said about jacking them up becasue of the body kit could cause a problem. I’ve seen a few white ones where I live but not yellow and yes I liked the seats and steering wheel…. I notice some people on here have paid under 10K and I have been quoted £13,700 with nothing extra, although I appreciate diesel’s are more expensive. Some people have also told me they are slow!! I currently have a diesel 1.3 design in black which is quite quick but the garage have told me I will notice the difference. Sorry for all the questions. Do the wheels have locking nuts?

Curtis Coombes May 11, 2011 at 5:15 pm

concerned customer May 12, 2011 at 3:33 pm

so how many people have bought this sort of car????
i bought one to find its not a limited edition its a corsa sxi 1.2 that the dealer has modded it up to look like a sxi limited edition with 17 inch alloys, vxr bodykit, and painted roof.
so how many people who bought this sort of car are driving it around as a 1.2sxi (85) model insurance????
if you are then im sorry but factory fitted is different to dealer fitted with my insurance company and i was driving around with it for 3 months.
any sort of incident i would of been stung bigtime as it didnt have mods on my insurance only factory fitted do and mine came off the factory as a 1.2 sxi standard not limited edition
“we made them up for demand” says the garage but limited edition they aint
how dare they say they want to take £1000 pounds off me for 3 months when they clearly sold a car that it clearly isnt
anyone else got one of these cars???

Neill May 12, 2011 at 7:24 pm

Blimy!!! sorry to hear that & wot a bloody cheek they had, does it have the Limited edition badge near the front wing indicator!! I just checked all my paperwork & the log book even says limited edition…how did you find out?

concerned customer May 12, 2011 at 8:03 pm

the badge is sxi. the log book is sxi.
but its identical to a limited edition otherwise
i only found out cause i asked for a valuation after the car had been in the garage several times in the first 3 months since ive had it. it went from £12500 to £7000 in 3 months 42% depresiation
made me question why so i did some investigating and found out
im disappointed bigtime

Ashley May 13, 2011 at 10:56 am

Concerned Customer I found out about this too. I was going to buy mine off arnold clark but found out through research and through my local vauxhall retailer that they were just modified SXI models. I was told that the true Special Editions can only be bought from actual Vauxhall Retailers which is where I got mine from. The badge, model sticker on interior of drivers door and manual all say special edition.
Curtis I got mine for 12,500 for the petrol and was told the diesel was around 13,500 as as this years limited edition is slightly updated which is probs why some others been quoted cheaper for unsold stock from previous years which the old front bumper and headlights etc.

laura May 16, 2011 at 9:41 am

I have jus brought a red/black vauxhall corsa 1.2 16v 3dr limited edition, and its lush!!!! paid 12500 for it. it had 10 miles on the clock. brand new 11 plate. they gave me a whole year tax free. very smooth to drive and looks stylish. bluetooth, air con, alarm system. its a must have. oh and very cheap on the wallet lol

Ashley May 18, 2011 at 8:52 am

Hi Laura, thats what I paid for my yellow/black one so now I dont feel ripped off considering others saying they got theirs cheaper etc. Although they havent really given you a years free tax as the engines 1.0 and the 1.2 16v corsa engine are classified as ecotec engines and are highly efficient. As a result they are exempt from first year road tax anyway so Vauxhall havent paid it for you at all and and tell a white lie but still congrats on the new car :)

concerned customer May 18, 2011 at 10:37 am

can i ask the people who have got a original corsa 1.2 limited edition does the V5 say limited edition And does it say white/black or does it state just white on the V5 ??

Jodie May 18, 2011 at 12:37 pm

Waiting to hear if I’m accepted for finance. The boyfriend and me have gone for the yellow/black lovely car :) ashley they might have got it cheaper but you don’t know if they put any cash down or swapped a car in. They are taking my 03 scratched up Mg zr off me for 3k so getting car for 11400 or something like that. Any one know what the Bluetooth is extra?

john May 18, 2011 at 4:09 pm

on the v5 says..corsa limited edition, hope this helps concerned customer

johnl May 18, 2011 at 8:25 pm

concerned customer, v5 says, corsa limited edition

dianne May 20, 2011 at 7:17 pm

Gerry May 29, 2011 at 7:32 am

Picked up my new LE in red 2 days ago. I am very impressed. Nice drive looks great and looks quick but of course it isn’t. The car feels very solid and even the standard radio/CD sounds good. Nearly went for the yellow one but now I have the red i’m glad i chose that. Wheels are nice and the air con works well. Very pleased so far.

Liam June 15, 2011 at 7:07 pm

Ordered a red LE other day. Dealer said will have to be factory ordered as they are very popular. He said I can change to White if I want it quicker which I don’t mind.
If I ring tomorrow and change to White how long will I be looking at till delivery? How long have you guys been quoted for delivery? Because I’ve planned a surprise driving holiday for fiancee and I start of July!! Need the car by then be it red or White
I payed £600 deposit, then £200 a month btw.

dianne June 16, 2011 at 6:18 pm

hi kate 87,just wondered how long u waited till vauxhaull said u would get a replacement car 4 ur knackered 1?we hv had our 60plate 5month bn in garage 5times 4 various things waiting 2 go in again needs a part but wont b here till end off june.if its still no better taking it back to dealers and handing car back, wish we hadnt bought it but it looks amazing and we r same with fuel, thought that was whole point off a ecoflex 2 save fuel.

SHARON June 17, 2011 at 12:45 pm

Neill June 17, 2011 at 10:54 pm

had mine 3 & half months now since 1st march, & ive just broken the 1000 mile mark!! i think i should use it more lol

danny boy June 19, 2011 at 5:29 pm

just ordered myself an 11 plate white and black one :) trading in my 1.6 sxi twinport astra i bought after i came back off tour in afghanistan as the petrol is costing me a bomb. plus im getting cheaper insurance on the new one and it looks HOT.

claire June 20, 2011 at 6:26 pm

hi danny boy, hope u av better luck with it than i av. been in garage 3 times with brakes, car looks the part but thats all.astra far beta car n cheaper to run.

HO June 21, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Wow thanks for posting that concerned customer. I am about to get mine from arnold clark. Now I’m going to have to ask that salesman if it’s truely limited edition or dealer modified. Can I confirm the insurance is group 7? Arnold Clark is offering me for 9.9K after the swappage allowance thingy for my older Astra. Anyone think I could still haggle for more money in my pocket. Some companies seem to offer more for swappage, but arnold clark will just argue that their cars are cheaper.

Concerned customer June 22, 2011 at 9:14 am

Dear HO
Ways to check if you buying a limited edition
the badge on the side will be a White limited edition
If you take the reg plate and place it in one of these car valuation sites it will say limited edition on it.
But be careful if just asking the sales guys. See I went into this very large vauxhall franchise and asked for a limited edition.
They sold me this fake instead so do your homework I would

johnl June 22, 2011 at 7:16 pm

HO, Nobody knows this but if u are in a union affilated with general motors. general motors will give u a thousand pounds off your car. i got them down to £10500 then they asked me if a knew anyone thats in a union must be blood relative my mother still paid her union dues (the coop) gave the guy union number got a thousand pounds of my new corsa £9500 and it was arnold clark cheers.

HO June 22, 2011 at 8:25 pm

Hey johnl thanks. I got it down to 9.5k with Peter Vardy actually. They were trying to convince me 10.8k was a very good deal, until I started telling them that arnold clark is offering me 9.9k. Well Peter Vardy did advertise 9488 as their lowest price, but you need to be in a union or in some sort of job to kind of qualify for an additional 1.3k discount. The idea is if you went armed with another deal, they seem quite ready to undercut it. And thanks to concerned customer, I did check the badge is limited edition. They seem quite ready to slag off AC that only them will do the despicable modifications. Also very keen to point out that AC often sell pre-reg cars which will therefore appear cheaper. Since its my first new car, didn’t know difference between pre-reg and brand new. For other fellow newbies, pre-reg means on the v5, you are actually the 2nd owner. So they said don’t trust anything from AC unless it clearly says brand new. Don’t know how true this is, seems to me like Peter Vardy just want to slag off as much as possible about their main rival. Feel free to clarify anyone.

johnl June 23, 2011 at 3:59 pm

hey, ho
it doesnt need to be u in the union anybody in ure family with the right job will get u discount ( negotiate then get ure discount thats what i done ) the dealer couldnt believe the discount i got. as for looky likey. peter vardy was full of sxi`s done up like the limited car wasnt pre reg had to wait six weeks..

Sue June 23, 2011 at 4:40 pm

Hi.. Has anyone got the 1.3 cdti LE? What’s the fuel consumption like? Ta :-)

HO June 24, 2011 at 9:38 pm

Hey Sue,
Should be the same as the normal version. LE is just different design, engine wise the same. 67.3 mpg (combined), 80.7 (extra urban), 53.3 (urban).

Hi there, i have been told to decide by tuesday wether to purchase a red/black corsa ltd edition 1.2 or a ford fiesta st 2.0 of my choice as im going to purchase a car on the following day. I was wondering if any of you have any idea how much does the petrol suck a week?

The corsa costing me 10,000 with packages
I have just turned 18 :’] lucky mee!

martin June 30, 2011 at 11:27 pm

ive had 2 vxr red and blue amazing cars but cost so much money to run now i have this corsa and i must say wicked alot slower but has saved me alot of money!!!!!

Kris July 1, 2011 at 8:04 am

I pick my limited model up today.!!

An for all the people asking why pay this when you can have this.!

I have had 2 civic type r’s and a 150cdti Sri astra.!

The reason is plain and simple they look good but are cheap to run.!

So to all the guys thinking you are tickets with your fast cars , great am happy for you.!

But I laugh at how much you guys are paying for car tax and fuel cost not to forget insurance.

I know how hard it is to pay a mortgage for a car.!
60quid on fuel on petrol for the type r…..

Sorry I will always love my fast motors but for now a good looking 1.3 corsa that cost £20 a year road tax £15 cheaper on my insurance per month not to mention what I will save on fuel.

I will settle for that until we are out of this finical hole , with the way the fuel and tax is going the days of owning a performance car is fast dying off.!!

Either way what ever car you have enjoy it and take care.!!

Alison July 1, 2011 at 6:48 pm

Hi all!
I’ve had mine a week now – love it!!
Anyone know how to switch the side lights off??? Been driving round in the sun with the lights on like a right idiot!

Neill July 2, 2011 at 10:48 pm

I dont know of hand but it says in your manual how to turn them off. I was thinking of putting an alarm on my car, has anybody else done this and any suggestions of any good makes?

Gerry July 2, 2011 at 10:48 pm

I dont know, can you switch them off? why?

Gerry July 4, 2011 at 10:36 am

I can’t see anything in the manual about switching off the daytime running lights.

KKK July 9, 2011 at 2:17 pm

got mine 1.2 petrol (wanted 1.3 cdti not in stock had to wait for factory order in 6 weeks) from Bristol street a brand new white £9999 after trade in my old 03 plate astra(needed to replace the fuel pump, luckily got rid of it just before MOT due), did I pay a good price for it?

got low mpg for the first 80 miles on the clock 32.4mpg :(

KKK July 9, 2011 at 2:19 pm

someone mentions this model comes with bluetooth? where is it?

Gerry July 11, 2011 at 8:03 am

The fuel consumption will improve after the first 500 miles as the engine free’s up. I was a bit disappointed with my LE but now its got its first thousand miles on it the fuel consumption is now averaging 45 mpg and the engine spins much more freely and pulls much better. I don’t think the LE has Bluetooth its only on the top spec corsa’s ie the ones with the full graphic music system/sat nav.

skye ingram July 12, 2011 at 8:14 pm

im picking my new car up on Friday cant wait going to be cruising in style!! 😀 Does anyone know the bhp?x

Katie July 12, 2011 at 8:36 pm

Alison July 12, 2011 at 9:17 pm

Thanks Gerry – I can’t see anywhere in the manual where it says about turning the daytime lights off either!!
If anyone figures it out share! 😀

Annette July 13, 2011 at 6:14 am

The day time lights don’t turn off they are a safety feature….

Emma July 13, 2011 at 3:38 pm

well done Annette, was just about to say- the day time lights dont switch off guys !!
got to say ive had my new corsa limited edition in red for 3 weeks now and i love it!! flippin beut on the road and runs on good mpg. Looks like a vxr except the fuel and insurance costs dont rob you blind! absolute winner in my books :)

alex July 20, 2011 at 4:43 am

hi all

ordered my white le 6 weeks ago and they have said early sept are they messing me around ? I have put down 250 already and they want a further 1000 when the car arrives. Then 208 (roughly) a month with the winter pack and bluetooth. i just want to put my mind at rest that i ve not let myself be taken for a ride. I have heard lots of people complaing about things going wrong with this car but are they just a few with loud voices or is everyone finding this car to be a nightmare ? please gimme a heads up of what to expect

Paula Holbrook-Witt July 22, 2011 at 5:59 pm

LE Corsa 1.3cdti White

We purchased one of these brand new in October.
Since then, it has spent the past 12(ish) weeks in
the garage. It keeps losing power when over taking or
just generally driving at speeds between 65-75mph.
Vauxhall at the moment are at a complete lose as to
the problem as everytime one fault gets sorted, another
fault appears. According to main dealer, they have a new
style engine in them & therefore don’t know what is causing
the problems. Has anyone else out there had turbo problems
on the diesel model? Any help gratefully received.

Gerry July 25, 2011 at 7:57 am

I have had my Corsa LE petrol for 2 months and 1200 miles and I have no problems at all.

alex July 26, 2011 at 3:03 am

thanks for that i might just be getting cold feet just nervous i ve spent a fortune for something that doesnt work but it nice to hear it ok

Crazyman July 26, 2011 at 8:11 pm

I hope to collect my Corsa LE in white Saturday.
Even with the main dealers now doing 0% finance,it’s still best to shop around.I’m paying over £17 cheaper a month for one with Gap and Diamondbrite, than another showroom offered without.

KL July 27, 2011 at 2:44 pm

Ive had my black and white limited edition corsa for 7 months and I know this is sad but is the best thing EVERRRR. I really do love it.
Not had any problems with it so far, but if you get it from a vauxhall dealership they should ring you up after 6 months and make an appointment with you to take it into their garage to have a full ‘health’ check on your car to see if everything is running well. So if this has not happened then i suggest everyone should ring up their dealership.

The only bad thing about the car is that it has an ECOTEC badge on the back….doesnt fit with the rest of the car. I am hoping to get it taken off. Also i wish i added bluetooth…DAMN!

Nic&ric July 29, 2011 at 9:10 pm

We have just ordered our LE corsa in White/Black and have put it on order for 1st September for new 61 plate. Alex, make sure it has new plate if they are making you wait..!
We are trading in our new astra as running costs on the astra are signifiantly more.!
The faults that have been listed are worrying but suppose any new car car will have a snags list, guess we will all have to keep our eyes on these.
Very attractive car and will feel good driving it, I feel sorry for Mr VXR with his expensive limited edition..!

james July 30, 2011 at 8:32 pm

hi johnl – can you give more info on the union discount thing? like – how you go about getting the discount? been looking today at the limited editions, and want one! thanks

Crazyman July 31, 2011 at 9:08 am

Collected my Corsa LE Friday afternoon.

kaylz39 July 31, 2011 at 9:53 pm

Desperately trying to get rid of my extremely unreliable Mini Cooper, been to every dealership over the weekend and the best deal out there by far has to be Vauxhalls 0% apr & the nicest looking car…the limited edition corsa of course. Just wondered if I’m getting a good deal or not? Receiving 9% off the sticker price because my Hubby’s a fireman as well as £750 vauxhall throw in towards your deposit, which takes the car down to £12,500. Minus the £3,500 they’re giving me for mine, my payments will be £42 for 60 months…is anyone getting a monthly payment better than that? I haven’t haggled yet on the sticker price & wondering if I should at to what price?!
Other biggest dilemma is white or red??? I love white cars, but the LE in white seems to be popping up everywhere now! Would have liked the extras like winter pack and bluetooth but as they’re factory fitted I’m told I could be waiting for up to 14 weeks- don’t think my mini will go that long without costing me at least another £600 to fix!
Advice please guys?! :)

Chris S August 1, 2011 at 8:22 pm

Hi folks. Went to local VX dealer who gave me a price of 12,000 for Corsa LE ( no trade-in). I qualify for partners and loyalty discount. This would take payments to £199 over 5 yrs at 0%. Still to try AC and Peter Vardy has anyone had any dealings. Also has anyone seen the Black LE, looks stealth, as everyone seems to have white

Neill August 2, 2011 at 9:13 pm

Black LE!!!!!! thought they only did Red, Yellow & White! the black one you saw was prob an SXI…

Hayley August 3, 2011 at 8:38 am

I ordered my Yellow LE about a month ago and have been told I won’t be getting mine until October/November. I noticed online they could offer it in black saphirre and I told the sales guy at vauxhall and he didn’t even know! Out of any colour possible I would pick black but then I had a look at it and it’s too much black. There are white cars everywhere now and I wanted something different. I opted for the paint protector/gap insurance/service agreement and parking sensors for £250 a month over 5 years, with a part exchange of only £500. My grandad worked for vauxhall as well so that’s with a 25% discount… Sounds like a lot!?

steve3 August 3, 2011 at 1:20 pm

got my LE in march 11plate for £9300plus 3 years free servicing, but did cost me a signed england shirt…

Crazyman August 7, 2011 at 9:07 pm

J Davy in Basingstoke has all three colours sitting outside ready to be snapped up.Drive in Aldershot where I got mine from were a lot cheaper(about 12 miles away)so they could be there a while.
Had my white one a week now, nearly done 200 miles, and loving it.The only prob is the road at the bottom of mine is having a new gas main put in,and my car has specs of tar on it.I had my LE Diamondbrited, washed it today, and it hasn’t all come off…grrrrr

Crazyman August 7, 2011 at 9:31 pm

Oh I forgot…talking about Diamondbrite,Drive were charging £299 I think.A friend of mine got a brand new Audi A6 and had someone come to his house and do his car.I phoned them and they quoted me £220.I told Drive and they matched it,and gave me more discount,I payed £183 in the end.As long as you get a quote and it has a lifetime guarantee your dearler should price match it.

Dudeybird August 7, 2011 at 9:43 pm

I had Diamondbrite done on my Corsa by Vauxhall main
Dealer when I purchased the car. I got it for free. My car also has
Tar spots which don’t come off when washed
So have had to use tar remover but this has been the case
On all my cars in the past with Diamondbrite

Crazyman August 9, 2011 at 8:56 pm

Problem solved…I got a courtesy call from Drive tonight(had the car 12 days,)asking how was I finding my Corsa LE?I told then great except for the tar prob…and they said bring it in and they’ll fix it for me as Diamondbrite should protect against it.So I’m taking it Sat morning.

craig merry August 12, 2011 at 6:22 pm

Just ordered the red one, get it sept 1st. Glad a lot of you are happy with it but saying you put £30 a week in petrol doesn’t help unless you say how far your travelling ?

Should of stuck with Ford August 13, 2011 at 8:19 pm

Message to Paula Holbrook-Witt: I have got the same problems with my LE Corsa 1.3cdti White. Had the car since June 2011 and it’s been in the garage more than I have had the car. Issues experiencing: Turbo has been replaced, the ‘DPF’ light comes on every day, car goes into ‘LIMP MODE’, fault with ‘Intercooler’ & ‘Inlet Manifold’. Anybody else experiencing problems with diesel model?

Scott August 13, 2011 at 9:23 pm

Im just waiting on approval for the finance although ive basically been told i was getting it
Ive paid 100 deposit and paying 202.99/ month 0% over 5 years thats with gap insurance and no trade in still have my astra to sell 😀
Ive been told im gettin it on 1st of october
Went for the black / red a really nice car my first new one :)
Still nervous and hoping all goes good hope i have no problems with it 😀

Gerry August 13, 2011 at 9:47 pm

OK Craig, just to clear up. I have a red Corsa LE 1.2 petrol. Ive done 3k miles of completely trouble free motoring since May. No problems at all. Im sure this thread is titled “Corsa LE” which is petrol not diesel. I drive about 50 miles a day on country roads and rarely get to drive any where far and never get on dual carriageways or motorways and my car averages 42 mpg all the time. Its a good car it looks great, its performance is average but its very economical. and its very comfortable.

emelia August 13, 2011 at 10:34 pm

ordered my LE white 1.3 today!
first car sitting test on Monday so cant wait..!
free roadtax for and paying 200 for the first year then 228 for the next four.. giving me full tank of fuel and car mats included along with the gap insurance thingy!!
said they are very very popular at the moment so there is a slight delay wont be getting it until end sept start of october!
does this sound like an ok deal?

Gerry August 14, 2011 at 7:35 am

I am wrong about the LE being petrol only. There is the LE with the 1.3 diesel engine available. I have the petrol version so cannot comment on the diesel version.

Tracey August 14, 2011 at 8:02 am

My corsa limited edition is just two weeks old and I’ve noticed a strong smell of petrol when I first get in. Also it it using a lot of petrol. What could be causing this?

Adam Midgley August 16, 2011 at 6:33 pm

Hi everyone… I’ve ordered this car on lease through my work (the NHS) I believe ING are the leasing company working with my trust I opted for the red one with the touch &connect sat nav I have been told delivery will be 9th Dec n it’s been ordered since 29th July I called the dealer direct n she told me that it’s an estimated date as they don’t yet have a build Slot for my car anyone offer any help I want it yesterday :)

Adam August 18, 2011 at 4:04 pm

Hi Laura is yours a factory order? I ordered mine 29th July was first told 9th Dec delivery now it’s 3rd week in Nov but was told this date would prob keep changing…

jake August 18, 2011 at 9:02 pm

i ordered mine on the 16th of june and i was told delivery date early september

Darren August 19, 2011 at 8:33 pm

Just brought my girlfriend a new White and black one pick it up on 20 september 61 plate can’t wait

JJ August 20, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Hi, I have had my Corsa LE for just over a week and have noticed that it is using more petrol than I expected however apparently this happens with all new cars. I would hope that as previous comment states it will do more miles to the gallon after 500 miles as have just done 200, will update comments later when have gone past this. I do love the car, I’ve had several comments about it’s good looks and a group of lads shouted at me the other day ‘nice car!’. I just cannot bear to pay more for an VXR, more petrol & higher tax just to be able to race someone at the traffic lights (I just laugh at anyone who tries this!), no-one can go faster than 70 mph anyway! The 0% finance is a great deal and the lifetime warranty is definitely a bonus!

nick August 23, 2011 at 7:10 pm

has anyone seen the black version of the LE yet?

Adam Midgley August 23, 2011 at 9:36 pm

Spoke to the dealer today and was told my car still don’t have a production date! Also that they’ve used all their allocated build slots for june, july, aug, sept, oct!! So now gonna be end Dec at a push for it to be built they aint gonna be doing much over christmas so prob ont get it till Jan 2012!!!!!!!! 6 Months for a car!!

bairdy August 24, 2011 at 1:59 am

listen up people you want to know what the best vauxhall is ? a vauxhall corsa b with a 2litre redtop out of a calibra dropped in it !
the shell is so light and the engine is powerful and will piss all over thease shitty new tinfoil corsas
but i suppose if your an old person who wants a nice little car to drive then yeah this car isnt bad but the price sickens me you dont get much for the money except a shiney paint job and shiney wheels …..

craig August 24, 2011 at 1:35 pm

@rob who commented 3rd september 2010

I don’t know why your going on about love for performance cars when you have a vxr corsa. To my knowledge they only have a 1.6 turbo engine which is the same as my van, you just have uprated parts. So it doesn’t matter what engine they throw in because you can buy performance parts. Your cars worth the same as a 1.2 limited edition corsa? Looks like the people who have the limited edition corsa have had a better deal than you. If you were really passionate for performance cars then why have you got a corsa vxr? A nissan skyline or the focus rs would of been better suited or even the astra vxr which has a 2.0 turbo lump. So you can’t really go on about having the money to get a limited edition vxr when obviously you didn’t have money for a proper performance car and had to settle for the corsa. So lay off the 17 year olds because at the end of the day they will look cool while people will be going to your vxr “only £13000, same as a limited edition 1.2 corsa” which will turn people off from vxr corsas

Gary August 24, 2011 at 7:54 pm

we ordered our Ltd Edition 1.2I 16V in white on Monday, picking it up in the morning….. cant wait !!! beeeeen ages since ive asked “how many sleeps” lol heheheheh

steve3 August 26, 2011 at 10:59 am

must say the LTD edition white car looks the best out of the red and yellow ones, its amazing how many people stair at it when i,m driving around town!! plus ive reached 112mph when it states top speed 107 and its the petrol 1.2i 16v. very good on fuel getting around 50 miles to the gallon on the motorway..

Kailey August 27, 2011 at 10:07 pm

Hi I just wondered if anyone knew which oil is the best to use as manual says using wrong oil can invalidate the lifetime warranty dont wanna be doing that now do I cant make sense of the manual. Please Help!!!!!!!

JJ August 28, 2011 at 3:27 pm

I am getting really concerned about how much petrol I am putting in. Compared to my old Corsa C (same engine), I am putting in twice as much petrol, have put in £75 in the 2 weeks from picking the car up, I wouldn’t even have put in £75 petrol for 1 month in my old Corsa! I just want some reasssurance that this will go down as otherwise I might have to get rid of it already, which I really don’t want to do as I love the car. CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW HOW THEY HAVE GONE ON IN SIMILAR SITUATION?????

Gerry August 28, 2011 at 5:01 pm

Saying that you put £75 of petrol in 2 weeks is meaningless. Why don’t you say how many miles you have covered in that time?
The Corsa LE has a dashboard computer that will display the average MPG. (RTFM). All new engines use a lot of fuel to start with. My Corsa LE is 3 months and 2000 miles old and is now averaging 43 mpg all day around west somerset.

jake August 28, 2011 at 7:00 pm

hi has any1 added the multimedia toch screen in theres (factory fitted) if so whats it like?

Kailey August 28, 2011 at 8:52 pm

JJ ive done 208 miles in my new corsa le and ive only put £50 in it and ive still got a quarter tank left, its weird its taking so much u may wanna get that checked?? what oil do you guys use in yours? dont wanna invalidate my warranty invalidating??

Kailey August 28, 2011 at 8:54 pm

Ive only done 208 miles in my new corsa le ive put £50 in it and ive still got a quarter tank left, u may wanna contact your dealership and get that checked? what oil do you guys use? dont wanna invalidate my warranty please help

Neill August 28, 2011 at 10:48 pm

Jake…im putting in the VXMMI head in over the weekend, getting from TTINTS, wicked bit of kit

Becky August 29, 2011 at 9:40 am

I’ve just ordered my LE Corsa in red, very excited. I’ve included the winter pack and the vauxhall approved remapping done by the dealership. The bloke said December as a delivery date but hasn’t given any exact date yet? Does anyone know do they write to you once the order has gone through with a more approximate date rather than just a month? And has anybody else ordered what I have or even just with the winter pack and not remapping because I know they do that in the garage once it comes in. How long did it actually take to arrive because the bloke said it could be December or someone on the factory line could say let’s make aload with a winter pack so I could have it in 2 weeks. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

alex August 29, 2011 at 1:31 pm

i ordered mine about three months ago with bluetooth, winter pack an climate control and im hoping to pick it up thursday but i have heard the same thing that they might have a car the same spec as yours laying around in the warehouse but it has to be the exact same as what you asked for and if you dont have to many extras you usually get it faster

Has August 29, 2011 at 6:11 pm

Just purchased the new all Black limited edition corsa, yes black!, NOT sxi, looks better and meaner than any of the others. Cannot wait, 2 weeks left! oh and only paying £180 per month 0% 5 years after some worthwhile negotiating. excited!

JJ August 29, 2011 at 6:57 pm

What I mean is I wouldn’t put in £75 for one month in my old Corsa C when I’m doing same miles, I have already run out and had to fill up again in 2 weeks of having the car. So it’s clear to me it is using more petrol if I didn’t even use £75 in my old Corsa in 4 weeks, all petrol prices are around the same near me. However I have since spoken to the dealers and they have had a similar situation where sum1 had the new Corsa LE and noticed the petrol consumption was high, however the guy says now he’s run the car in and has done over 1500 miles it is now more efficient. The dealers have however been really helpful and said they would check it over to be sure but this can be normal especially when brand new. I have noticed however today that the av.MPG is 30.2 wheras last week it was 29.6, so I am not worrying about as much now. Newer engines are tighter and therefore will use more petrol. I haven’t had chance to replace the oil but I do want to know for future, I’m seeing the dealers soon so I’ll prob mention it. Cheers!

rob August 30, 2011 at 11:00 am

u cannot compare this to the vxr.. i had the astra which i got bored of after 18 months. the vxr has silly torque steer.., the limited edition will drive better than the vxr.. do not by a vxr unless its the insignia…. fact

anne August 31, 2011 at 8:10 am

I pick up my white limited edition on Saturday, I can’t wait, thought a good looking car like this was beyond my budget. Fell in love as soon as I saw the car!! Happy driving.

steve3 August 31, 2011 at 4:52 pm

arnold clark have got the new black le corsa all lined up with the red white & yellow, must say it looks plain compared to the white & black & the red & black! its to plain the white & black is by far the best looking with its colours complimenting each other, maybe if the alloys on the black car were another colour it would look better?????

Becky August 31, 2011 at 5:10 pm

steve3 do you have the link for the arnold clark image?

steve3 September 1, 2011 at 12:26 am

hi becky go to google search & type in (build a vauxhall)
go to limited edition then enginge type then trim then you will see the knew black one it doesnt look as good as the white & black le, or the red & black!

shirleyann September 1, 2011 at 10:49 am

Hi All, I am also a proud owner of Limited Edition white/black Corsa..4 weeks old today and yes i’m proper O.C.D. with it forever cleaning it,park miles away from other cars in car parks and when its raining and my boys had football, the sheets and carrier bags come out lol (don’t worry investing in back seat car covers)
I love it and coming from a Mitsubishi Lancer Gs3 which drank petrol this little one is paying for itself and still looks hot,
Anyway I just have two questions if anybody can help…

1) When is the limited edition ending?
I heard December and was just worried if they don’t stop banging them out there not going to be very Limited, therefore bringing the value down quicker or am I just being stupid?? (be nice!)

2) Can anyone recommend any speakers for the LE corsa?
The ones that comes as standard are sufficient, would just like a little more Bass and a quality sound although don’t want a sub as need the boot space..and at 30 need to leave all that alone lol..if anyone has any suggestions would be very much appreciated, Thank you x

Becky September 4, 2011 at 5:22 pm

I’ve ordered my LE corsa with the standard cd player, sound system and didn’t opt for the bluetooth, ipod doc extras etc Can anybody tell me what you get with the standard one? Do you even get a AUX in port or anything or is it just very basic because I always plug my iphone in for music in my current car. Is there anyway of plugging it in with the standard set at all?? The dealership said there was, but im doubtful as the website makes it out to be very basic and the dealership are turning out to be quite useless and palming me off all the time! I suppose they’ve had their order and made their sale so now they don’t give a s**t.
I placed my order around 2 weeks ago and was told december for delivery and that they would let me know in a few days later with an actual date which they didn’t. I emailed them and rang them and they keep plaming me off. I’ve read that some people are having to wait 6 months for their car and I’m starting to get quite worried. Can anybody help or offer some advice??

Danielle1990 September 5, 2011 at 10:53 pm

Hi, I’ve had the white le for a year now and im still in love with it! Im going to be trading it in for the 61 plate yellow soon though and it works out better for me on a whole and its only going to be £4 more a month! i was guaranteed delivery last tuesday but they failed to called me in the morning to tell me it was still in scotland at the hq! im not impressed at all. Up to now with the yellow im getting the fitted mats, rear sensors and a full tank of petrol for £199 a month over 5 years. whats the gap insurance about that some people are getting?

Gerry September 6, 2011 at 8:41 am

Becky, My LE has the standard audio system and it really is very good. The sound is fine. Yes there is an aux in port and if you record your own CDs with itunes or similar software the track titles are displayed on the radio display. For your iphone it’s only an aux connection but it works and sounds fine and all the radio/CD controls are replicated on the steering wheel. I ordered my red car in april and got it 5 weeks later and i’m VERY happy with it.

Becky September 6, 2011 at 1:52 pm

Thanks Sue and Gerry. I’m glad I’ll still be able to listen to my iphone :) I’m so excited that I want it yesterday so it’s doing my head in that I don’t even have a production date yet :'( It better be here by xmas!

Becky September 6, 2011 at 1:53 pm

Sue let me know when you get yours so I can try to work out some kind of estimate.

Becky September 6, 2011 at 1:57 pm

Thanks Sue and Gerry! I’m glad I can listen to my iphone :) I’m just so excited that I want it yesterday so it’s doing my head in that I don’t even have a production date :'( It better be here by xmas!
Sue let me know when you get yours so I can try to work out some kind of estimate.

alex September 6, 2011 at 6:30 pm

i know this bit out of the blue i still havent got mine so probs bout 4 months and can you skip tracks on your ipod/iphone using the steering wheel

Kailey September 6, 2011 at 9:02 pm

Hi Gerry can you help me please, I also want to hook my i phone up to my in car standard sound system but where on earth is the Aux input so I can connect it?? Ive looked everywhere.
Thanks in advance

Owen September 7, 2011 at 3:18 pm

Hi Kailey, the aux input is just behind the gear stick 😀

gerry September 7, 2011 at 4:50 pm

its below the radio above the cup holder unit (in between the coin holder slots)

Justine September 10, 2011 at 2:53 pm

Have just picked up my new LE corsa in white and love it……Looked in the boot yesterday and realised there is no spare tyre, is this normal, never owned car without a spare tyre. Can anyone let me know if this is right.

Amanda September 11, 2011 at 7:42 pm

Ok so after reading all these comments i have defo been done with this one. Not only am i Paying 13k for the limited edition yellow one (paying over 5 years) i ordered the car 6 weeks ago to be told i would have it in 3 weeks only i still dont have it and as far as i know it wont be ready till the 4th of october. Does anyone know if i can still haggle the price on it?

haydn September 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Anyone got the diesel one? Any thoughts on it would be appreciated.

Gerry September 13, 2011 at 1:03 pm

Justine, there is no spare wheel with the LE because they are fitted with 17 inch wheels and they won’t fit in the boot! There is a pump and puncture fixing kit in the toolkit but if I get a puncture I’ll just call the RAC and let them sort it out.

Katy September 14, 2011 at 9:16 pm

hi, i have just got a yellow LE and very hapy with it.

However, havng a little trouble with the phone is connected and i can make and receive calls, however whenever someone calls or i call someone i have to wait for them to answer before then scrolling down to ‘freespeech’ prior to any sound coming through the speakers! which is obviously a bit annoying when you are drvng. I was wondering if there was a way for it to be permanently sent to ‘freespeach’ any help would be much appreciated :)

Hayley September 14, 2011 at 11:22 pm

Amanda, I am picking mine up hopefully this weekend and I am still haggling with the price from vauxhall! Tell them what you want!!

Amanda September 14, 2011 at 11:33 pm

Hayley, I ordered mines 5 weeks ago and got a fone call the other day to tell me it still won’t be ready till the 4th of october so I’m defo gonna try and haggle them 😀 x

Neill September 15, 2011 at 9:31 am

ok guys & dolls a few weeks ago i heard of a rumour about a corsa d recall due to a faulty brake pedal bearing, i left it, cos if its true they will contact me, also my car is a new 11plate, out of curiosity i rang my local dealer who put me thru to services, they asked for my registration & to my surprise they said my car needs to come in & have the faulty bearing changed, so its booked in this week..

Dudeybird September 15, 2011 at 1:12 pm

The diesel models are being recalled for a brake
problem, mine got done a few weeks ago
& only took a few minutes. They did it at
the same time as they did the service.

Neill September 15, 2011 at 4:36 pm

Well mine is petrol and its only done 3k miles so long way to go till its service, & and they need the car for the afternoon!

Dudeybird September 15, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Think yourself lucky that it is only going in
for half a day. Mine has spent more time in
in garage faulting than it has on my drive!
The problem is you have to have a yearly service
To deactivate the lifetime warranty. Mine only
had 5684 miles on the clock when it had it’s service done

AMANDA September 15, 2011 at 7:58 pm

i aws wondering if all the limited edtitions come with bluetooth… i was not offered any extras on mine which i am a bit annoyed about. I really think i have been done out of money with mine from peter vardy

M bentley September 16, 2011 at 10:16 pm

Is there a call in for brake pedal Does anyone now ? Fuel is poor around 41 also we have yellow one front and rear bumper are changing colour to the body panels has anyone notice that thanks m ps still like car for the money

Nicola gilbert September 17, 2011 at 8:52 pm

Can anyone tell me how the limited edition drives in the snow,as i have just bought a new one today?,xx

john l September 17, 2011 at 10:31 pm

totally shocking in the snow,, forget it park it up and leave it, the worst car i have driven in the snow av had mine a year now

Robert September 18, 2011 at 10:20 am

I have this car and i have no idea it had a cd changer?

Where it is in the car, it’s impossible to find ahh.

Gerry September 18, 2011 at 7:17 pm

The standard LE Corsa does not have a CD auto changer.

Stuart September 19, 2011 at 9:13 am

I bought my girlfriend a new 11 plate in white for £9k with partners and swappage – a worthless 2004 1.7 cdti sri with 200,000 miles on the clock owned from new. The clutch had failed and it was delivered to the dealer on an AA breakdown truck! She loves the car, and the kids aren’t embarrassed to ride in it either. Its a bit slower than the sri – but who cares.

Nicola September 19, 2011 at 8:48 pm

John l,thanks, its not good news tho,its just aswell my mum has a 4×4 or I would be house bound, but if anyone has any thoughts or ideas of a way round not having to park the car up in the snow, wud b appreciated,x

Hayley September 19, 2011 at 10:26 pm

Amanda, they are now offering 0% so I’m getting mine for 200 a month over 5 years with a 500 deposit. :-)

Amanda September 19, 2011 at 10:37 pm

Yeah Hayley thats what i got it on but think am payin 220 a month for mine which a think works out at just under 14000 in the end up 😛 x got a call today to say a should get it 2moz or wed so fingers crossed 😀 x

jj September 21, 2011 at 9:31 pm

i re-ordered mine in august ive not been told expected delivery date is mid october.roughley 3 weeks away but cant give me a exact date…

Amanda September 22, 2011 at 6:12 pm

I picked mine up yesterday and all i can say is i love it 😀 x only seen one other yellow limite edition on the road which makes it all the more enjoyable 😀 x

Sue September 25, 2011 at 7:40 am

Becky & Adam
I picked up my Limited Edition yesterday and it’s an amazing little car to drive! Four months since I ordered it but well worth the wait :-)) Hope u don’t have to wait too long before yours are ready..
Happy driving when they arrive..

Sean O'Sullivan September 25, 2011 at 8:35 pm

Picking mine up on friday, managed to knock the price down a fair bit, sales man was a top lad an all

stuarty September 26, 2011 at 12:32 am

oh yeah getting my 61 plate for 10495 to hell with finance CASH

Shirleyann September 26, 2011 at 10:23 am

Hi all, just wondered if anybody else is having trouble with the chairs in 3 door L.E?? The catch to open chair doesn’t always work and sometimes in can take a good five minutes to get the chair to close again! Not good, also when I was the car or get it valeted within an hour there’s two dirty lines on each of the bottom door sills which don’t look great on a White car and are proving quite hard to get off! Has this got anything to do with what the car was originally washed in at garage? Or a common problem? Thank you

Shirleyann September 26, 2011 at 10:28 am

Apologies for minor spelling mistakes above, phone auto corrected it to make me look like a fool :)

Neill September 26, 2011 at 11:21 am

the 2 dirty marks on your side skirts are a common problem, if you open your door & look on the under side of it you will notice 2 drain holes there, just use a autoglym or a good polish & it will clear this up…

gerry September 26, 2011 at 11:57 am

The marks below the door on the sills is caused by stained water running out of the door drain holes. I don’t know why its stained but it must be something Vauxhall paint the inside of the doors with. I have a feeling that as time goes by this draining water will gradually lose its contamination and run clear, until then it will come off with a a bit of effort.

Shirleyann September 26, 2011 at 12:56 pm

Thanks neill and Gerry for advice, Drain holes in door noted! When I looked at them was greeted with some yellow gunge trying to get out of them.Nice,It may be an idea to wash this part of the door and dry it next time I’m cleaning it see if that helps. And yeah Gerry I have given it a good scrub was close to getting Brillo pads out but I restrained myself. :) thanks guys advice appreciated.

johnl September 26, 2011 at 1:01 pm

SHIRLEYANN, just use some wd40, spray on the yellow gunge and it just wipes away job done,

Jack Fillingham September 26, 2011 at 2:14 pm

Just bought a brand new LE…in BLACK, got around £2000 off from original price and will put around another £2000 down as deposit, with 0% finance over 3 years this makes the car responsible priced. Was told there aren’t very many black ones around….is this true?

Wasn’t to sure with the black on black and first but looking at it is person I am very impressed. Didn’t want a white one because they aren’t very ‘limited’ anymore, I have seen far too many of them about!

jamie c September 27, 2011 at 5:16 pm

i went into the show room after seeing the car in the window and after taking her out for a tast drive i set my heart on one the sales man was more then helpfull he was dead set on selling the standerd old shape to me for less but i wanted the limited edition in black and red 5dr 1.2i vvt i went for one with every one of the extras they offer for the car on finance which brought my bill up to £19,850 which is 59 monthly payments of £323.96 over 5 years and a final payment of £472.96 with not deposit and a flat 4% rate it was ordered today and im told it will be built and dilivered by end of december to early january i cant wait for mine to get here im 18 and iv been quoted £2000 a year on insurance and im paying for it all my self before anyone says i must have a minted dad or somthing lol haha

Neill September 28, 2011 at 9:57 am

the red & black is a gorgeous looking car, but mate thats almost £20k!!! i think you should have looked around abit more & bumped the price down, im paying £14k for black & white over 5 years with loads of extras & im sure i could of got it cheaper if i had waited for the 0% finance deal to came out…enjoy you car tho you will love it

jamie September 28, 2011 at 10:48 am

hi neill
it was 14k to start with but after all the extras and the slight colour change and i tryed to get 0% but i couldnt get it so i had to pay interest also and it all made the price go up and up but im not worried as long as the car is as good as i hope it will be the 20k price tag i can live with that lol

Neill September 28, 2011 at 11:20 am

yeh it is scary the way the price goes up when your sitting in the showroom saying i want this & that with it lol, but it is a great car mate & i have never seen a red 5 door yet, unlike my common as muck black & white 2 door so well done for getting something different, ive been looking into trading mine in for the new VXR burg..well see tho lol

jamie September 28, 2011 at 1:09 pm

yeah iv not seen a red 5dr outside the showroom yet iv only seen the
white & black 3dr yellow & black 3dr and 5dr not many red ones knocking about thats why i like it so much the vxr nurburgring edition with the turbocharged 1.6 engine is nice and im sure that it would be a fun fast car to have but are you really going to use it to its full thats a lot of horse power and not a lot of space to gallop and running costs are going to be high price but having said that if i could get insured on one i would be thinking about having one over the ltd corsa 1.2 lol

Annette September 28, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Help……My son has the LE in Yellow. Got it 1st July 2011. Petrol is being used at a ridiculous rate. Filled it up (40 litres), 208 miles later it’s nearly on empty. Rough estimations are just over 20 MPG!!!!! I see some of you have said you can check the average MPG on the onboard computer? Can someone explain how you do this. I am considering getting the garage to look at it. At this rate we will be bankrupt…….

Annette September 28, 2011 at 1:34 pm

Sorry forget to mention he has 1300 miles on the clock….

Amanda September 28, 2011 at 1:35 pm

Annette i picked my Yellow one up last week and its doin the exact same but i think this may just be because i havent ran it in yet… not sure if anyone else can shed some light on this?

Annette September 28, 2011 at 1:52 pm

Amanda…he has done just over 1300 miles in it and I would have thought that as previous owners had put after 500-1000 miles they noticed a difference. I know he doesnt race round in it and understand that he is driving to college and back but we cannot keep putting over £50 in every 4/5 days. Need to try and work out how to check the MPG on the car. All I can see is how many miles he has done!!…..

Gerry September 28, 2011 at 2:51 pm

My 1.2 LE has now done 3,000 miles and i drive around country lanes all day and it is always returning over 40 to the gallon. it gets better as more miles are put on it. Just twist the knob on the end of the R/H stalk until the display reads miles per gallon (Average) which is a circle with a diagonal line through it. ?

Amanda September 28, 2011 at 2:55 pm

Thanks Gerry i will also keep an eye on this as i though it was just to do with the fact that my car only had delivery miles on it so i wasnt gettin the full potential out the car yet but Annettes son seems to have done 1000 more miles than me and he is still havin the same problem

Nicky September 28, 2011 at 7:55 pm

Just got my 5dr red limited edition a wk ago and loving it,wasn’t so sure about the 5dr but it looks so much coolier than i thought,i’v noticed a few folk have said about the pertrol i put in £30 and got 230 miles so im thinkin that pretty good,xx

Paul September 29, 2011 at 7:06 pm

Just had a phone call ordered a black LE in August told its going to be November before its delivered anyone else got the same sort of lead time.

Becky September 30, 2011 at 11:10 am

I ordered mine in Red in August and have been told December :(

dan October 3, 2011 at 10:01 pm

i think its funny that vxr owners slate this car for being a vxr replica. it is vxr styled and looks nothing like a vxr. if you place them side by side its pretty obvious. its a nice looking car in its own right hence the reason i have just ordered a white one :) as for reliability issues my dad has a 60 plate eco derv and the father in law has a 59plate 1.4 and both have never missed a beat. the local vauxhall garage here will always bend over backwards to make you happy.
mmmmm white and black looks lush. :)

Nuttytart_uk October 4, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Hi Guys, I want my car! I ordered a white 3dr LE with winter pack, bluetooth, sat nav and parking sensors in July 2011. They told me early September, now there saying October….how rude!

john October 4, 2011 at 5:38 pm

ordered august told november and thats not even guaranteed seems to be a common problem with these cars

Jj October 5, 2011 at 9:40 am

Did u get the multimedia touch screen sat nav?and the same has happened to me I’m having to go back down there n kick off there messing me around been nealy 5months the reason for it is that I’ve orderd it with the multimedia screen he said there having problems getting hold of it I think it’s bollox

Gavin Scott October 5, 2011 at 9:51 am

I have a red and black version of this car and it is wonderful. Loooks great for a start. I have had it 3 months now and I have already done 7000 miles. Its very efficient in terms of petrol. Cheap to fill against many small cars. Insuranace group is really low. Plenty metal between you and what your going to hit as a 1st time driver.
I have driven the car at some crazy speeds on some fun roads and I love it. It holds the road well enough. You dont need a vxr etc because you can never utilise that performance on British roads. This wee 1.2 is magic, its so much fun and I dont regret getting it. It packs a punch for a 1.2.
Its easy and fun to drive. Its a big small car so it roomy enough. I’m 6 ft 5 and I fit in either seat comfortably.
I dont feel there are many negatives with the actual car. Only negative I’d give is it was quite expnsive to get on finance and I bet someone out there is laughing at me because they have a better car for a lower price. Or for a little more I could have gotten a better car by far.
That negative aside its great and I highly recomend it. Thats just my opinion from driving it so much so I could be biassed

dan October 5, 2011 at 9:52 am

I ordered my white le on saturday and it arrived yesterday with bluetooth and supaguard. Picking it up friday. Yay

jj October 7, 2011 at 5:18 pm

what do you guys think all the new all black limited edition?

jamie October 7, 2011 at 6:13 pm

i dont think that they are all that there just plain the 17inch black alloys get lost in the sea of black way to much black on one car it would be a really sexy looking car if it was matt black now that would be a car and a half lol

Neill October 7, 2011 at 11:14 pm

Agree with Jamie, the black is nice, but it has nothing to break the black up, with the red, yellow or white they have the black roof & wheels to break it up, the black edition looks like an sxi with black wheels, its a shame they only did the matt black in the prefacelift……..…hall-Corsa-VSS

Dean October 12, 2011 at 9:53 am

I ordered my 1.2 LE 3 door corsa at the end of september and they said it would be here by beginning of november. So hopefully they keep their word and its here soon. I got it with 0% finance and because my brother is in the navy i got 9% discount. All together im paying £10495 which is pretty good i think. Anyone got any tips or comments i might find usefull. Much appreciated

Jack October 12, 2011 at 3:13 pm

I’ve just picked up my Clack LE and paid around the same as Dean^^ because i also got the 9% a little more. At first i wasnt to sure of the ‘black on black’ but actually i really like it, i think you can tell quiet easily between the sxi and LE! Also i havent seen a Black LE’s but have seen loads of white and 1 or 2 red so its much more ‘Limited’ than the other colours!

Jack October 12, 2011 at 3:16 pm

jake October 14, 2011 at 6:31 pm

im split between the limited edition corsa 1.2 and the abarth 500 1.4 turbo what would you guys have if u had the choice?

Shirleyann October 14, 2011 at 7:30 pm

Hi Jake,

Think it’s obvious!! If we had a choice? most of us have limited edition corsa’s
Yeah the abarth 500 is supposed to be quite fast but it’s not that attractive really is it? Not for a guy!! Lol sorry just my opinion

Good luck with whatever you choose…but I highly recommend the Corsa LE :))))

jamie October 14, 2011 at 10:43 pm

hi jake

im backing up Shirleyann its really not that manly is it i mean your not going to get much street cred in a abarth 500.

as this is a page for posts on the corsa Ltd and not a page on abarth 500’s that qustion was a little silly if you think about it lol .

i wouldnt have one but having said that i would buy one for my girlfriend but thats just what i think it comes down to personal taste.

Gerry October 15, 2011 at 12:52 am

I agree, this is a Corsa LE discussion. The Fiat may be a fine car but i wouldn’t be seen dead driving one. It looks like a pile of crap. It may be quicker than the Corsa but so are loads of cars. My Corsa LE is just great and suits me fine, if you want to drive a poof’s car get a Fiat.

Aidan October 16, 2011 at 11:13 pm

Hi guys, just ordered myself a White LE petrol, I did initially want the diesel, but they put my order through as a petrol :(
I’ve been told that it’ll be here by mid to late November, so until then I’ve gotta say goodbye to my fantastic little polo gti :'(
Best car I’ve ever owned, and I’m only 19 lol
But I’ve had ALLOT of cars, I was wandering if one of you who have their LE or know quite abit about them could give me some rough figures with fuel, insurance costs for around my age, acceleration etc all your feedback would be gratefully received! :)
P.s it’s not cos I’m one of these young lads who rag their cars around, but I can never seem to get an exact figure for bhp, acceleration and mpg, Everyone I’ve asked says something a little different like 85 bhp or 75 :S

Pete October 17, 2011 at 7:14 pm

I picked up my brand new Corsa LE with 1.3 diesel engine the day after my 65th birthday in March this year. My wife chose the car for its looks but I thought it would be a bit like driving a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Nevertheless I am very pleased with it and it is a great drive. Fuel consumption averages in the mid 50s to the gallon and on long motorway trips gets even better.
My only complaint about the car is the fact that it does not have a spare wheel but comes with the tyre repair kit which would be a fat lot of good in the case of anything more than a slow puncture. And of course the styling kit prevents it being jacked with the standard Corsa jack.
I did contact Vauxhall about carrying a steel wheel with a tyre of similar rolling radius to the 17 inch alloys fitted to the car (eg 195/55 R16 or 185/65 R15) as a spare (relying on the emergency service to change the wheel for me if ever necessary) but the response was that only the 17inch alloy with 215/45 R17 tyre is approved for the car. Really helpful! I’ll just continue keeping my fingers crossed.

Nuttytart October 17, 2011 at 8:37 pm

Enquired about my car again. Been put back until nov now. Its a joke. They take the cash n then don’t want to know.

Mad Dog 70 October 18, 2011 at 2:57 pm

I share many of your frustrations. I ordered the LE on the August Bank Holiday Weekend and the expected delivery date is now the end of Nov 11. I do not even have a build date yet. Back to public transport for another month or so.
Although dragging up old ground, looking at the early posts, I think it is relevant. I used to own a Y reg (1983) Cavalier SR, ok I was only a nipper (19) and the car was a couple of years old, but the principle is the same. It’s a sporty looking car which is cheaper to run than the big boy versions, white saloon with anthracite sills. Shame they dont put Reacaros in these “one offs” anymore, but my later SRI and Astra GTE only had “sports style seats”

steve October 21, 2011 at 1:00 am

Hi all, am wandering if anybody uses there LE on motorway journeys as all been well am going put pen to paper next week on one once ive seen a red one cant decide between white or red at the moment, but need to see what its like on the motorway say cruising at 70mph as will be used twice a week for a 110 mile trip.
Am looking at getting the 1.3 cdti

Pete October 21, 2011 at 11:55 am

My 7 month old Corsa LE with 1.3 diesel loves cruising on the motorway at 70 mph with fuel consumption in the mid to high 50s per gallon. Sounds quite nice as well.

Kailey October 21, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Hi guys im not having much luck with my LE ive had it 10 weeks and im already taking it in for repair it keeps revving when i depress my clutch to change gear, and yes my foot is okk accelerator lol also,my fuel consumption seems to be increasing the more miles I do which ain’t too many. It started averaging 50 mpg now it’s only 27.9 has anyone else had this same prob? Any feedback would be great, oh and I’ve done just short of 1000 miles.

Nuttytart_uk October 21, 2011 at 6:02 pm

How useless are the sales rep.s?There always busy and then never ring back. I wish they’d hurry up with my car now its been over 12 weeks. I had high hopes for this car but sounds like i will never get and will end up having probs with it. I could cry!

Bex October 22, 2011 at 7:50 am

Sales reps are awful, so many excuses and promises. I ring up and they say “oh such and such made the sale so we can access the order and he’s not here” what aload of s**t!
I constantly get promised emails or call backs and it never happens. Everytime I call they can never give me something on the spot they have to get back to me, which they don’t.
Ive read so many times too about problems people have been having too. It makes me quite worried.
What I want to know too is why some people are being told 3 months and others who order their car well after me are being told 1 months. Takes the p**s. My sales rep doesn’t have an answer for this funnily enough!
I need my car by Xmas because I’ve booked and paid to go away in it to visit family but I’m starting to think looking at other peoples situations that it won’t be coming.

JJ October 22, 2011 at 12:31 pm

Hi Kailey, I too have had concerns over my LE, the av. fuel consumption has gone down from 30.3 mpg to 26.3 from having the car 2 months ago. I have had to flick off the display as I was getting obsessed with it! I have also noticed that there is a slight juddering and slower acceleration at times when in low gears – also it is quite difficult to easily change into 3rd and have often ended in 1st which is a nightmare. At first the gears felt stiff and I know that all the mechanical parts can be ‘tight’, so I thought that I should let the car wear in, and I did speak to the dealers re the fuel consumption who said to see how it goes then call back if didn’t get better. Also I know new cars are slightly higher on fuel consumption, however I have contacted my dealers who have always been really helpful and taken on board all my concerns, they are picking my car up next Friday from my work. Sorry to hear that other people are having poor after sales service with their dealers, but I have to say that mine have been really good. I’m afraid technical problems with new cars will always happen (if there is a manufacturing fault then obviously there should be a recall) and at this stage I am prepared to give Vauxhall the benefit of the doubt, as I do really like my car and I get so many comments about it and looks from other drivers (mine is the white & black). Let me know how you get on with the repair, the fuel consumption may be rectified when the clutch is sorted out?

Terry October 22, 2011 at 5:49 pm

sam owen October 23, 2011 at 11:51 am

Traded in my vectra for the limited edition corsa in white & black. Ordered it 3 weeks ago, will be getting it this week. Got a good deal with trade in & discount, had it on 0% finance for 5 yrs. Did a lot of shopping around and got the best deal with evan’s halshaw nottingham. Will give an update on performance when i get it.

Dudeybird October 23, 2011 at 3:00 pm

Just wanted to let you know that my LE has now started juddering on top of all the issues I have had already, but good news is that Vauxhall will be sending out recall letters for exactly that from Nov 14th. In the meantime, I just ‘have to put up with it’ until that date. This is only for the diesel model.

Ross October 27, 2011 at 11:26 am

I ordered a black/white LE about 4 weeks ago now, paid £13200 for the diesel including the sat nav upgrade and winter pack. They told me around 12 weeks for delivery, but i’m told by someone else it’s more realistically likely to be anything up to 16 weeks (I hope they’re wrong).

Currently got a Fiesta ST 2.0 petrol and it’s costing me an arm and a leg, so I can’t wait to have a car that looks good but doesn’t cost the earth to run.

For those who had upgrades on their LE, i.e. sat nav, winter pack, etc- how long did it take to deliver from order?

Bex October 29, 2011 at 9:02 am

Hi Ross

I ordered mine towards the end of august and was told late November, early December for delivery so 3 months/12 weeks. I had a phone call last week to say its going to be AT LEAST the end of December so AT LEAST 4 months/16 weeks. I’m not happy, I currently don’t have a car and expecting it early December I’ve paid alot of none refundable money to go away in it between Xmas and new year. A hire car will also cost me hundreds more because I’m under 25.

jamie October 30, 2011 at 3:40 pm

i ordered mine 2 months ago with all the add on stuff i.e satnav winter pack parking ect and i was told end september then december then march so after they said that i said they can keep the car i no longer want it 30min later they came back with a offer i could not turn down.
they have changed an order they made so that i will have mine on the 17/01/2012 and they have given me a car to use untill it comes and they have sorted my insurance for me too just shows what you can do when you have a strong word with the boss lol

jack October 31, 2011 at 11:31 pm

omg , is any one else having alot of bother with the limited edition 11 plate, hand brakes failed, rolled back into the house knocking down one of the kids, coil pack went , brakes grinding and loss of power.
i love the look of the car, but is it worth it :0(

mark November 1, 2011 at 8:38 pm

hi i ordered my limited edition on the 19th of august told i would have it back end of october then told middle of november just spoke to dealership now been told end of december,so i rang vauxhall up to complaint all comes to all it is the dealership fault cos there didnt check there allocation of limited edition cars there are allowed each month so now ive got to wait 18 weeks for car has anyone else had problems like this

steve3 November 2, 2011 at 3:44 pm

when are they stopping prodution of the 11 plate LE thought it was supposed to be a limited edition does anyone know thanks?????…

Shirleyann November 2, 2011 at 4:50 pm

Hi Steve,
I heard it was December this year… But can’t quite help but feel this isn’t really the case! It seems the limited edition proved far more popular than they ever imagined so there still producing them!! Not very fair really is it! When your limited edition isn’t that limited, I think they should have numbered them like the Vxr arctic’s, Don’t get me wrong I love mt LE but keep seeing more and more of them on the road, so I’m feeling a bit conned lol.. Thanks :)

jamie November 2, 2011 at 4:53 pm

they are not taking any more orders for the LE you can only now get a used one ( unlikely) or find a dealership that have not sold there allocated amount they are sending out the last LE to people up till feb then the production of this LE will stop and they say there wont be another for the next 4 years.
hope this help if you dont have one now or on order then your unlikely to get one untill a used one comes up for sale.

Tiggy November 6, 2011 at 12:32 am

JJ November 6, 2011 at 10:38 am

Well, Vauxhall picked up mine last Friday and said the diagnostic test did not bring anything up (intermittent loss of power, kangaroo jumping in low gear) and that they took it out on 2 drives and said it was ok to them. When they dropped it off the guy said I should have been told about the on board computer and how to reset it as the mpg was giving low figs and I was concerned. Another thing they didn’t tell me when they handed the car over (I also was told that should have been advised how to connect bluetooth and know about the cruise control, I’ve never had both I had the previous model).
Anyway, I mentioned this juddering in low gears and he said ‘ yeah I’ve noticed that aswell but I think it’s just the way the car drives’???? Also he blamed it on my car mats!? I know something’s not right, as my boyfriend then drove it the next day, driving in low gear onto a dual carriageway, it kangaroo jumped so I knew I wasn’t going mad. As it’s under warranty I’m going to keep an eye on it and I wonlt hesitate in sending it back again, cos I’m not the 1st person to mention this on this website. Yes, the car looks great and people do comment on it but I wasn’t expecting this from a brand new car so I’m disappointed about this, I just hope it stops doing it!!!!

Dudeybird November 6, 2011 at 1:43 pm

There is a recall letter going to all LE diesel owners about the juddering. Vauxhall are fully aware of the problem & the recalls will take place from November 15th.

Kailey November 6, 2011 at 3:55 pm

Hi so I keep getting low mugs as well so how do I reset the on board computer to sort this out? X

Gerry November 6, 2011 at 4:58 pm

Reset the computer by pressing the button on the end of the right hand stalk and holding it in for about 6 seconds. Of course you could always read the manual that came with the car.

Fraser November 7, 2011 at 1:15 pm

Tiggy – Don’t put up with that kind of service! You can’t spend this kind of money and get treated like that. Look back in the comments at what Jamie said about the same issue.

Jack November 7, 2011 at 3:13 pm

my car is getting picked up tomorrow by the garage , throutal pack and euc wiring, brakes are all getting replaced , the car has only done 2000 miles, i have just noticed the air curculation and the airbag buttons don`t work , have already had the coil pack and hand brake replaced, been in the garage for two and a half months and now it is going back in (no happy)

Lee newby November 13, 2011 at 11:00 pm

It’s a joke and all a load of s**t to sum it all up

Lee November 22, 2011 at 3:45 pm

Has anyone had any problems with their Limited Edition Corsa? for example…a wind like sounding noise when driving at 30-40mph?

Sean November 29, 2011 at 1:28 pm

Had my Corsa about 3 months now, done 4000 miles in it feels nice to drive, corners well, one problem the other day i was driving and i noticed my windows steaming up and this time of year i always have the heaters on the windows so i turned the radio down and turned it right up but nothing next thing hit a speed bump and it started working again, dont know if it was something blocking it or the wirings shite but it works fine plus some dickhead reversed into me the other day

steve3 November 29, 2011 at 7:41 pm

my LE 1,2 petrol corsa has gone from doing 28mpg on the motorway at a steady 55mph to a terrible 23mpg, dont think thats very good at all, only does just over 200 mpg on a full tank of petrol, wish i,d never bought the damn thing. rubbish rubbish rubbish.. oh and its on 4000 mile wich worries me!!!!!!

jack November 29, 2011 at 9:45 pm

mine done the same i have just had a new throutal pack put on the car, new brake pads new tube on the air con the car has only done 2,050 miles , i bought my car in June limited edition, coil pack, hand brake has all been replaced :0(

Gerry November 29, 2011 at 9:57 pm

My petrol 1.2 LE has done 4000 miles. It has no faults and does 43 mpg all the time. It has great handling. It’s not very quick but it looks great and I’m more than happy with it. Are you guys sure you’re getting the mpg correct?

Neville December 1, 2011 at 12:04 am

Hi all thought i should add my ten peneth in…

the sparer wheel thing i was told by frosts on the south coast that if you use the emergancy tyre inflation kit the tyre has to be cut off the rim and replaced asap rather than repaired an expensive option i am sure you will all agree. Well worth buying a spare and jack the dealerships are prepared to sell for about £150

and finally can anyone tell me what do you get range wise out of the 1.3 diesel on a tank ful i am seriously looking to buy one as well

Aidan December 4, 2011 at 12:41 am

Hi guys, picked up my LE last night and I love it! Only had it 24 hrs and Ive had more people look at the car then I ever did with my ST or GTI, not as fast as my last two, but the looks compensate for that small detail!
I was just wondering about running in the little beast, is there a curtain rev limit I have to stick under I.e. 3000 rmp for the first 1000 miles ?
It’s just cos it’s getting a little frustrating when I’m so used
To having power at roundabouts and junctions, and I get into the LE, and I’m trying to stick under 3000 rpm because that’s what I’ve been told to do by an RAC bloke, I just assumed he knew what he was talking about lol
My GTI used to say what rev’s I had to stick under in the owners handbook, but my LE doesn’t say anything :(
Any help on this problem of mine would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys! :)

Laura December 6, 2011 at 7:48 pm

So I’ve had my vauxhall corsa limited edition in red since march. Lovely car but just had a phone call from my local vauxhall garage and my car is being recalled for a safety feature on the brake pedal any one has had the same problem?

jack December 6, 2011 at 8:28 pm

i have had my brake pedal fixed, recall is the brake pedal, it snaps in a strong impact ,

Kailey December 6, 2011 at 8:36 pm

Hey guys when your talking break pedal recalls is it both the desil and petrol models? cos if so im phoning my dealership first thing

Laura December 6, 2011 at 8:40 pm

Hi Kailey, I’m not sure if it’s on both models. Mines petrol

jack December 6, 2011 at 8:49 pm

mines is petrol too, also got the brake disc replaced aswell as they were grinding only done 2000 miles.

Kailey December 7, 2011 at 11:51 pm

Do you guys think its worth me contacting my dealership over this – mine is a petrol also. Oh and does anybody know how much winter tyres are for this car?
Thanks in advance

Nicky December 8, 2011 at 1:50 pm

I was lookin for winter tyres and they are averaging from £300 rite upto£500 dependin on the make, wud b cheaper buyin a wee run around for that price lol xx

Ash December 8, 2011 at 10:51 pm

Finally got my brand new 61 Limited in Yellow straight out of the factory been waiting ages! Only had it a few days and I’ve noticed it’s a bit sloppy and such but it’s still “breaking in” I guess.

Other than that it looks fantastic, few xenon bulb changes on the front, Heko wind deflectors are on which made a nice little touch. Like I read in a previous comment some VXR mirrors would look the part and lowering it 20/30 mil won’t hurt.

Read some bad reviews above mechanical wise too, hopefully I won’t suffer the same fate.

daniel December 10, 2011 at 7:51 pm

Had my vauxhall corsa limited edition in red from March done 15000
Get about 30mpg not the best. Just got new tyres and need front brake pads and now the car is sitting down at the vauxhall garage with a burnt out clutch and aparently its my fault.

emily December 12, 2011 at 6:31 pm

Ive had the new LE 1.2 corsa for around 3 months now, didnt have any problems with it until 2 weeks ago a had a knock at the door asking me if that was my car rolling down the road! (my drive is on a hill and so is the road) i instantly thought i didnt apply the handbrake properly, however thinking about it now i was in my house for a good hour before i had the knock at the door, my car would of rolled instantly before i even left the car if my handbrake wasnt up.. i have since had the same problem a couple of days ago when my car rolled off the drive again! i know for a fact i have been applying the handbrake properly especially since the last time & again i was in the house for a good 20 minutes before the accident, this time i havent been so lucky and the car rolled into a moving vehicle and has caused a lot of damage! seriously not happy! waiting for vauxhall to get back to me about the car possibly having handbrake failure, so disappointed.

jack December 13, 2011 at 2:43 pm

Hi Emily, that happened too my car aswell , vauxhall sorted mine as my car was only 4 weeks old, it rolled into the house , boot bashed in bumper smashed handle fell off, you have to keep at the garage and vauxhall love.

anne December 13, 2011 at 7:43 pm

had my car nearly 3 months now, I have noticed a whistling sound whilst driving over 40. If i wind the passenger window down just a little it stops, this time of year cant be doing that. Am concerned over the many issues that are being mentioned at the moment. Shame really as I love the car and the look of it.

Louise December 13, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Had my limited edition corsa in red 61 plate since October and has already been in the garage 3 times due to the dash and central system rattling. They’ve added padding which is a modification but the dash still rattles and creaks. Just wondering if anyone else has had these problems?

Sean December 14, 2011 at 8:49 am

it terms of handbrake problems, ive all ways been told to leave my car in gear when parked with the hand brakeon. common sense really because handbrakes fail quite often on lots of cars

emily December 14, 2011 at 2:06 pm

ive had the car back from the dealers & they said that there is nothing wrong with the car, they are contacting vauxhall to see what they say about this. im sorry but i shouldnt have to leave a brand new car in gear all the time just so it doesnt roll down a road, there is clearly something wrong with my car. its not fit for purpose and is unsafe for me to use, this could lead to a bigger accident than the last one. i have a lot of damage on my car and the other car is even worse, i will be taking legal action against vauxhall if they do not sort this out & i want all my money back for the car, just so dissapointing..

Amanda Quinn December 14, 2011 at 2:18 pm

I to have also been having problems with my handbrake, I find that upon parking and applying the handbrake I feel that it jumps out sometimes or is not holding tight enough and feel that the car still tends to move x

emily December 14, 2011 at 9:55 pm

amanda, make sure you tell vauxhall about this. they are getting a lot of complaints about this issue at the moment. if you google, handbrake failure for the corsa model you will find loads of reports on this.

Tiggy December 15, 2011 at 3:20 pm

I cancelled my yellow LE Corsa when I was told YET AGAIN the delivery date would be next year !!!
Went to Platinum in Trowbridge and gOt yellow LE CORSA that weekend. It didn’t have the sat nav but I was promised a better quality one if I didn’t mind waiting whilst they fitted it the next day. I am now the proud owner of a yellow LE Corsa with top of the range sat nav come TV DVD PLAYER also can play X BOX & PS3 on it. They gave me free mats, tank of petrol, year tax & body protective coating (can’t remember what it’s called)
Loooooove my new car. I do leave it in gear after reading earlier posts. So far I have not had any probs other than trying to stop my hubby wanting to drive it lol.
Good luck to those still waiting.
Tiggy xxx

Fraser December 16, 2011 at 6:30 pm

There’s an ongoing discussion about handbrakes across various Vauxhall models here

Amber F December 17, 2011 at 12:36 am

Heyyy, i am getting a 1.2 cdti limited edition vauxhall 10 plate corsa next friday. Can some one please tell me what the little thing attacched to the centre compartment is its between the passenger and driver seat is please its attached to it but the man i seen at the garage today didnt know what it was for :/

Answears please????

Mr Butterscotch December 19, 2011 at 7:30 pm

Hi Tiggy,

Thanks for the comment. I’m really glad to hear that so many of you are pleased with your new cars (and sorry to hear about the wait for the others). There’s really nothing like getting a new motor.

perry December 21, 2011 at 1:40 am

both my lads have the so called limited edition 50-65mpg corsas, but with an average of 30 to the gallon, poor brakes, sill failing off the dealers says the car is fine…. warrantee- what warrantee. ive contacted vauxhal who state that the details of the cars mileage is taken from factory conditions…in small writting…. misleading or what!
has anyone had the same poor fuel consumption and complained and got a result or has anyone managed to get the car replaced or money back. i in tend to take legal actionif this isnt resolved so would like to hear back from people with simular complaints

f1mad January 6, 2012 at 5:38 pm

Got a black LE Corsa. Mpg not great since last corsa and now done 2700 miles.Hope to see improvements in near future! As for handbrake-as a driving instructor, I teach pupils always to leave the car in !st or reverse gear with the handbrake on when unattended. Emily, you should have been taught this when learning to drive. The handbrake is applied only to the rear leaving the front ‘unbraked’. Leaving the car in gear on hills will give engine braking(to the front wheels on a Corsa). Also, when parked at the side of the road turn the wheels towards the kerb when facing downhill and away from it when uphill. There have been many accidents with the car rolling down hills with the handbrake on-it is not limited to Corsas! A new car or not makes no difference. Leave your car in 1st or reverse gear and your car will not be going anywhere.

Maria January 10, 2012 at 11:55 am

I have had this car for a year now and I must admit it is boring. Has anyone here remapped theirs? The bhp is around 74 at standard, but a remap will give it power of a standard 1.4 and around 100bhp I’ve heard. Wondering if it is worth doing? I think it’ll give around 90lb of torque back but I want facts! A cat back exhaust and induction kit are in my mind aswell. Any remap experiences?

f1mad January 15, 2012 at 7:26 pm

Emily, you should be aware of the need to leave ANY vehicle in 1st or REVERSE gear when parked on a hill. It gives engine braking! The handbrake is only braking the rear wheels on most cars. Every driver should know this but the type of incident you describe is nevertheless sadly quite commonplace. 1ST GEAR UPHILL, REVERSE GEAR DOWN.

steve3 January 18, 2012 at 12:22 am

does anyone no if you can remap the corsa le 1,2 petrol 16 valve 2011 model thanx

Neill January 18, 2012 at 9:49 pm

regal remap the 1.2, but u will only get an av of about 5bhp more…..have a look on CORSAD-UK its a corsa d owners forum, its full of usefull info with friendly owners….

Gordon January 20, 2012 at 11:43 am

its a corsa. as for VXR owners, you should have bought a clio 200;)

emily January 27, 2012 at 1:25 pm

well since my last comment my cars handbrake has failed again on a FLAT surface and rolled towards a house, thankfully i managed to see the car rolling and pulled the handbrake back up. my dealers and vauxhall are now fitting a new handbrake system to the car as it has been found faulty. i do realise that when a car is on a slope/hill its advised to keep the car in gear. however, i shouldnt have to do this at all times, thats what the handbrake is there for, to hold the car, leaving it in gear should be just a backup.

Mr Butterscotch January 31, 2012 at 1:01 pm

Hi Emily,

If a new handbrake system is being fitted I think that tells us all we need to know about the previous system! Did they tell you exactly what the fault was out of interest?

Laura February 1, 2012 at 8:41 pm

Remapping is pointless unless you’ve got a turbo or supercharged car, even a stage 3 remap on the LD corsa isn’t noticable having learnt this myself and only gaining 7bhp BUT tuning it is worth it. Standard bhp is 80bhp, after tuning its now 96bhp, far from winning races but a sly underdog against other 1.2-1.4 cars who think they’d take you.

Gordon February 2, 2012 at 10:14 am

bottom line is, its not “Limited”. there are no numbers to show how many are built.

Nick February 6, 2012 at 5:12 pm

Does anybody remember recieving a card after buying a new corsa which entitled you to 20/25% off servicing or mots? I’m sure I did but can’t find it. Just wanted to clarify?

Aidan February 7, 2012 at 1:02 am

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows when my fuel consumption will start looking a little better, I’m only getting 36 mpg and that it my eyes is terrible!!! It goes through a tank of fuel in seconds and to be honest with you, it’s more expensive than my previous cars which were older, had bigger engines, more power, and I ragged them!
Not good I’m afraid, and the snow saw that I destroyed one of my front alloys buy skidding into a kerb, now the trackings out and the car pulls to the left :(

Kun February 9, 2012 at 2:08 pm

Have had 14000 miles done on the clock since July last year(120 mile per day on commute). Average mpg is 47 (extra extra care), the best I did was 53.7mpg for a 400 miles journey. This is a 1.2 model.

Mr Butterscotch February 14, 2012 at 11:32 am

Hi Kun,

That’s a really good MPG for this car. I’d be extremely happy with that!

Kun February 14, 2012 at 12:57 pm

I have a little widget in my mobile phone to record the fill-ups, so it gives pretty accurate result as oppose to dashboard clock. If I do 70-75 MPH on highway if gives in between 42 – 46 MPG, but still far below the advertised figures, bad…..

jamie February 27, 2012 at 3:17 pm

hi there picking my sexy black on black limited edition up im 2 weeks cant wait such a good looking car and i havent seen anyone with the black on black version yet !!!

steve3 February 29, 2012 at 10:26 pm

Neill March 1, 2012 at 6:33 pm

Andy March 3, 2012 at 11:54 am

Jamie ive seen 1 Black limited edition out and about and I think they look fantastic mate, ignor Steve’s comment about looking dull cus to be honest i think its the best color out of the lot mate, infact if the black 1 had have been out at the time 1 had my yellow 1 id have had it without a doubt mate. Hope u enjoy your new car mate keep us posted on what u think when u get it. All the best Andy :0)

Mike March 8, 2012 at 8:54 pm

I bought my white limited edition 1.3 diesel last February and in the space of a year it has been in the garage over 10 times as it keeps making a vibration and rattling noise from the glove box area. I bought mine from charters camberely I was told I was maing it up so I took it to a different vauxhall dealer but still experiencing the same problem and starting to get really annoyed. Has anyone else experiences this problem?

Kun March 9, 2012 at 2:06 pm

Hi Mike
I noticed my 1.2 petrol one has the same problem. The rattling noise only came when I had done 13k on the clock. It started from the gear box area and then gradually spread out towards the glove box area. It only annoys me when I am second gear accelerating, totally bearable though.

Ricky March 18, 2012 at 10:36 pm

i bought my new vauxhall corsa ecoflex 1.0 litre start of this month and my permanent side lights are constantly on, does anyone have any ideas how i can turn these off?

Gerry March 19, 2012 at 12:07 pm

You can’t turn them off.

As a result of European legislation adopted in 2008 dedicated daytime running lights (DRL) have been required on all new types of passenger cars and small delivery vans since February 2011. Trucks and buses will follow from August 2012.

There is no requirement to retro-fit DRLs to existing cars and no Europe-wide requirement for drivers of cars without dedicated daytime running lights to drive with headlights on during the day.

Where fitted dedicated DRLs will come on automatically with the ignition.

Gem April 2, 2012 at 3:48 pm

I purchased a black Corsa 1.2 SE 11 plate last year from Arnold Clark. It had 10701 miles on the clock when I purchased it, and 6 months later is up to 12500 (I don’t go far!) My MPG is currently 32.4, this has increased slightly from what it first was (31.7) and I am hoping it does increase further as time passes. I average around roughly 100 miles per week, maybe a little more, I know that’s not much and it’s not long journeys either, it’s mainly short stops. Have noticed it’s a little slow on banks as well, but I assuming the 5 door models are? All round though, very pleased with it, but a little concerned now after reading previous comments on here about my MPG versus my mileage??? Thoughts welcome (I don’t claim to know a lot about cars!) Thanks!!

Ronald Bala April 4, 2012 at 7:04 am

i have been reading all the comments here. I have noticed that almost averyone has got MPG issue.I have just about the pass the 500 miles on my yellow LE and as of now it can only do about 40 mpg driving 50 miles everyday, 10 miles london driving and 40 miles A road and M road. I am really dissapointed with my petrol consumption. I will wait maybe another 500 miles and if things doesnt change I may have to resort to getting a legal advice. Anyone who’s got an issue with mpg maybe we can join together to settle this problem legally. The real reason why we bought this one is the fuel consumption. As it turned out, my Honda Civic 1.8 is more economical than this vauxhall corsa 1.2 LE. So dissapointed indeed!!!!!!

gordon April 4, 2012 at 6:08 pm

Everyone is going on about mpg. its a 1.2….a city car. A and M roads are for bigger engones with a good power to weight An d a 6t gear. Its funny how a Limited edition car keeps getting.built lol

ronald bala April 5, 2012 at 8:41 am

Hi Gordon, Are you now implying that city cars can not be driven in motorways? I think you are missing the point – vauxhall advertised 39.2 mpg for urban driving and 61.8 mpg for extra urban (that includes Motorways) with a 51.4 mpg average. You have to understand that people like me bought smaller cars for fuel economy because of soaring petrol prices.
People who discover that they can only do 30 to 35 mpg are not very happy (would you?), I’m sure you also own this model. By the way,it’s not funny or lol if you are expecting or if you are made to believe something that is not true.

gordon April 5, 2012 at 9:11 am

Ronald, surely your smart enough to realise manufacturer figures are not true. and if you wanted a car for the motorway you would have bought a diesel car with 6 gears? also motorway figures will be done at around 55mph with a near empty tank of fuel and a low passenger weight. and no im saying city cars are not meant for the motorway, hence why they are called CITY CARS

Gerry April 5, 2012 at 9:30 am

My 1.2 Petrol LE now has 6000 miles on it. I use it on shortish runs usually maximum of 40 mile round trip to work and back, around town & country B roads. I have not reset the average mpg computer for 4500 miles and is shows a steady 43 mpg which I am quite hapy with.

Ronald Bala April 7, 2012 at 5:48 am

I think the best way to measure mpg is how many miles can your 45 litres can go. Computer trip in your dashboard is not accurate. Well, Gerry, 43 mpg is maybe reasonable.

Dudeybird April 7, 2012 at 8:51 am

If you have cruise control, you can always use this to get better fuel consumption. I have the 1.3 Diesel & average 749 miles to the tank by using cruise control. By not using cruise control it is approximately 527 miles. Huge difference & very worthwhile. The fuel consumption will also differ depending how you drive it & how heavy you right foot is!!!

Ronald Bala April 7, 2012 at 2:19 pm

Wow, wow, wow!!! 527 miles to a tank, that’s fantastic. I am even struggling to get at least 250 miles. And 749 miles? – that’s unbelievable.

Dudeybird April 7, 2012 at 3:22 pm

Although it is fantastic on diesel, it has spent more time in the garage being fixed than in our driveway. As I mentioned previously, some time ago. It has had major engine problems & spent months with Vauxhall unable to find the problems. As soon as they found the problem & fixed it, within 2 weeks it was back in. Vauxhall have certainly lost alot of money on this car but wont replace. Fingers crossed all is ok now. As much as its annoying, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Shame they are so common now. Vauxhall won’t stop making them if they can still sell them!

jodee April 10, 2012 at 7:07 pm

I advise not to buy this car! my car was brand new in june 2011 and on tuesday it had its 9th visit to vauxhall… good looking car yes but absolutely shocking on fuel consumption and engine management problems! Do Not Buy!

Rponald Bala April 14, 2012 at 10:17 am

I’ve been to the garage for the first time yesterday because of my hand brake problem. Hopefully they’ve managed to fix the problem.

Jodee – how many miles have you done so far? At the moment I can only do around 300 miles to a tank which is roughly equivalent to 30 mpg which is very poor.

Dudeybird – which particular model have you got, is it the 1.3 ecoflex 75ps or the 95 PS?

Dudeybird April 14, 2012 at 6:27 pm

We have the 75ps. This mileage is achieved in our car motorway driving.

Ronald Bala April 15, 2012 at 8:08 am

Oic Dudeybird. Thanks for your reply. I am planning to exchange/swap my 1.2 petrol LE to either 75ps or 95 ps diesel 1.3 ecoflex that’s why i was enquiring about the mpg you do.

Dudeybird April 15, 2012 at 8:14 am

Not a problem. Please look at my previous posts some time ago though as my experience with this car hasn’t been trouble free that’s for sure!! Thank god for the lifetime warranty!!
Just out of interest, has anyone else noticed that the Vauxhall logo on the wheels are coming off? I will pop it into the garage as I am sure they shouldn’t come off. Looks like they are just stuck on which I personally think is a bit cheap & tacky!!

neill April 15, 2012 at 5:47 pm

Ive had my 1.2 LE since 1/3/2011, ive done 5583 miles in it and apart from being naff going uphill im happy with it, no probs so far touch wood……

Jodee April 16, 2012 at 11:53 am

Hiya.. Mine has done about 8000 miles.. Its 9months old and has also had its first service about 2weeks ago! I get about 40mpg atm but it is in the garage most the time so im stuck with a courtesy car!

Auto April 16, 2012 at 8:37 pm

Very good article!

Frankie April 18, 2012 at 10:29 pm

Hi. Me and my boyfriend got the yellow LE 1.2 petrol on the 05/03/2012 and we have spent a fortune on petrol. Within the first week of getting the car we put £80 in petrol now nearly 1600 miles on the clock and were lucky if we get 50miles per £10 worth of petrol. All the dealers say is bring it in and let us monitor it for a few days… How much more money do they want us to spend before they finally hold there hands up.. Also a light vibration noise from the glove box which is sooo anoying but can nit figur out what it causeing it…And you have to put at least £20 for the file gage to even move and they say that’s not a fault either… We had the 1.2 polo moda 70bhp on a 60 plate bought brand new and that use no where near as much as this… Can anyone to me if they have had any luck from there dealers in relation to this…

Gazza April 23, 2012 at 10:02 am

I’m getting one next Monday but reading this I’m a bit worried about the fuel problems seems to be a problem for some but not others thinking of backing out because of this can anyone reassure me on this

Amanda April 23, 2012 at 3:55 pm

Hi Gazza, everyone who has bought the diesel seems to have no problems but i bought the petrol and im luxky to get 35mpg out it

Ronald Bala April 24, 2012 at 9:20 am

Hi Gazza, do yourself a big big favour. Don’t buy it. I did hundreds of miles using cruise control and the best figure i got was 37 mpg. Amanda was right, I should have bought the diesel one

Stuart April 26, 2012 at 8:17 pm

Well ive had my limited edition for 6 months and im getting 40.7 mpg so whats the fuss? Stop over reving then

Gordon April 27, 2012 at 1:42 pm

40.7 is nothing to be happy about lol you get that out a golf gti lol

Andy April 28, 2012 at 7:14 am

Gordon, forgive me if I’m wrong but isn’t this site for Vauxhall Limited Edition cars not Golf GTI’s?

harry May 1, 2012 at 4:50 pm

37 mpg is shocking for a 1.2 i have a fiesta st 2.0 58 plate with 198bhp and i average 31mpg and its only insurance group 13 and only paid £5200 with 32,000 miles !!!!!!. Corsa is insurance group 7 for a few black bits !!!!!!! my mate has one and paid £10,500 for a 2011 plate they are well over priced…….. go get yourself a proper car with a real engine not something lifted out of lawn mower with the mpg of train !!!!!

Dirk May 2, 2012 at 2:13 pm

I own a fiesta 1.4 tdci with 105,500miles over all i get 56.9mpg . Best 71.4 mpg with the a/c off…. low 50.35mpg , put in a order for The 1.3 se , as the petrol one has a very harsh ride, and 38mpg sucks!!!!!

Kun May 2, 2012 at 2:28 pm

This is my second post in this thread, I managed to get 48MPG combined on the clock with my little 1.2 (done 20k). fuel becomes more economical after the first service since new (after 15k miles). The best I did was 53.7MPG on a 400 miles journey 6 rounds between Cambridge and London (in town and Motorway)

Stop over reving it I am sure you can get at least 45 + MPG

Dirk May 2, 2012 at 3:03 pm

The 1.3 se is 95ps 6speed geared , my work fellow has one and gets 74.5 on motorway, and 57.8 on A,B roads , and in London 49.2mpg , and just £30pa road tax is the same as my fiesta , happy days!!!

Frankie May 2, 2012 at 6:19 pm

This is my second post on here… Me an my partner have the LE 1.2 petrol in yellow.. We fill the tank for £60 and all we get is 295.4 miles this is an absolute joke… Had it bk in the garage again today and AGAIN there saying nothing is wrong with it.. I have told pentagon I will be seeking legal advice and even thinking of leaving a post on watchdog aswel. All us on here with the same problem need to raise this… Obviously there is a under lying fault that there not accepting…. Has anyone at all had a good Responce from there dealers??

Gerry May 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm

I dont worry about the fuel consumption but I get 43 mpg day in day out. It may be the way people drive! 43 mpg is fine. Its a heavy car for goodness sake

Ronald Bala May 3, 2012 at 9:35 am

Hi Frankie, 295 miles is really a joke. That’s about 30 mpg more or less. I’m getting around 350 miles on mine on a full tank petrol – that’s about 35 mpg more or less and this figure is really really bad, not as bad as yours though. Yes, Frankie seeking legal advice and contacting watchdog is a good idea. I am considering the same action.

Gerry, you are very lucky to get 43 mpg. Does that mean you’re getting around 420 miles (more or less) on your full-tank petrol?

will smyth May 3, 2012 at 2:59 pm

I drive a 2003 hyundai accent MVI 1.5cc with 120,000 miles on it and i get 320 miles for £50, i was thinking of going for a corsa but ill just stick with my old car to save money

Gordon May 3, 2012 at 3:02 pm

fact is small engines with low power output DOES NOT always mean cheap to run. a vxr corsa can achieve 40mpg because it has better power to weight, 6 gears, a turbo. obviously when used violently yes it will go below 30 but for everyday driving it is better.

Frankie May 3, 2012 at 10:49 pm

Thanks Ronald, I think it’s a joke to be honest, I had an argument with one of the service desk people yesterday, he tried telling me 295 miles per tank was about right… He thinks coz I’m a woman that I’m stupid… Well he has met his match because me an my partner have got a few tricks up our sleeves yet… We will be taking the car back in again on Saturday to log an official compliant.. We all need to log this as a complaint for vauxhall to take this serious….

Ronald Bala May 4, 2012 at 10:20 am

yes, totally agree. I was just reading an article about this woman in the U.S. named Heather Peters who launched $10K suit against Honda after her hybrid Civic did not meet mileage expectations and there is a very big chance that she could win the case. Her honda was just doing 30mpg compared to 50 mpg that honda promised. In your case, you are just doing 29 to 30 mpg compared to 51 mpg promised by vauxhall. Please keep us informed. Thanks!!!

Kailey May 4, 2012 at 12:06 pm

Hey guys I’m in the same boat as you all, my yellow corsa le which I got
Last august has always run on. about 31.7mpg. I defo agree with you guys that
Mentioned flagging it up to watch dog or something similar as this is ridiculous.

Neill May 6, 2012 at 8:07 pm

all depends how you drive it, got my 1.2 petrol new 1/3/2011, its done 6000miles, it never goes above 4k revs, and I change gear at the shift light and the best I got was 54 mpg, worst was 39 and I average about 44mpg, Im happy with that as its a heavy car for a small I washed it today and i could not care if i got 30mpg cos it looks dam good lol

Gerry May 6, 2012 at 10:38 pm

Could not agree with you more Neill. If I want to push my Corsa then I get about 35mpg and im really reving it. If I take it easy on a long trip I get 48mpg. I reckon I average 43mpg, but I dont care and dont understand what all the fuss is about. All this talk about “Watchdog” and threatening the dealers and Vauxhall is nonsense. Get real people. Enjoy your car and stop moaning. It looks great, it wont get more mpg than i’m getting because of the power to weight ratio and thats that. Stop moaning. Ive got a light bulb that says it will work for 4000 hours, It went pop tonight after only 5 months, i think I will sue China!! Good grief, its a sad world.

Ronald Bala May 7, 2012 at 6:23 am

I have a question for both Neill and Gerry-How many miles can you get with you full-tank petrol?

Neill May 7, 2012 at 3:36 pm

Sorry Ronald cant answer your question as ive never filled it up, its only used at weekends due to company van….

Ronald Bala May 7, 2012 at 4:02 pm

Thanks for your answer Neill. But based on what you posted that ur doin an average of 44mpg, you should be able to do at least 420 miles with at least couple of litres left in your tank.

I just filled up today. I got 347 miles (w/ at least a litre and a half left in tha tank) for an average of 36.56 miles per gallon, way below vauxhall’s 51 mpg average claim.

Gerry May 7, 2012 at 5:23 pm

I don’t fill my tank either, I always put £30 ish in and that’s that.
I’m having a week off in a couple of weeks and doing a fair bit of running around. I’ll fill the tank and let you know.

Ronald Bala May 8, 2012 at 1:18 pm

Thanks Gerry. I found out today that vauxhall corsa is not alone with mpg problems. Almost all the new cars around has got the same problem. That is according to What Car Magazine.

Ian Mc May 8, 2012 at 1:36 pm

I have had my petrol L.E since the end of Nov 2011 and fortunately I have not had any problems that were reported with having to go back to the dealers, hand brakes etc. I do get a pretty poor return on the fuel when driving around town (34 mpg) but on a run to Somerset, I recently got there and back on a tank and was hitting around 45 mpg. I was pretty pleased with that and think the car is great. Question – It is a little slow becuase it is heavy with a small engine and you know about it going up hills. Would getting it tuned on a rolling road improve the performance and consumption, and would it invalidate the warranty.

Lee May 15, 2012 at 12:59 pm

are you guys being serious? the mpg is a guidline and you will possibly achieve it if you are driving as economically as possible… revving the tits off it will obviously give you a lower mpg… sigh*…

Ronald Bala May 15, 2012 at 5:38 pm

Lee, are you really really serious? How do you know that we are revving? Have you seen us drive? If only you can see me how i drive mine, I almost do not want to put my foot on the gas…. sigh…..

Frankie May 15, 2012 at 5:58 pm

Lee, I’m not being funny but me and my partner wouldst of bothered changing from a 60 plate polo to this corsa if we knew what was In store…I don’t think any off us have paid £15000 for a car to rag it about like young boy racers…We are older more wiser people.we only use our car to travel to and from work mainly yet we get around 295 per tank… We pushed it once and got 311 which is a joke for a 1.2 car….. It’s amazing how most people automatically jump to conclusion that people must be driving like mad men instead of agreeing that vauxhall have made a huge mistake with this car.. It wouldn’t suprise me if some of you work for vauxhall…..

Dirk May 15, 2012 at 7:02 pm

my 1.3 le has done 1300miles motorway mpg 64.3 A roads 57.4mpg London 47.9mpg , air con stays on all the time, so not to bad

Mark May 17, 2012 at 1:28 pm

i find this funny about the boy racer part….i spent £13000 on a 6 month old arctic vxr….im 19, i rally the car a bit. its the whole pint in the car lol but i find it hilarious because i get 35-40mpg, with a car that has 3 times as much power as the 1.2 lol happy filling guys!

Dirk May 21, 2012 at 1:19 pm

Just got back to day from the Gr8 Chelsea Cup win in Munich , the road trip took 1706miles inc a few beer halls total avg 63.49mpg with 3 people and 4 spot filled will duty paid beer the car needs better seats , that apart gr8 car £1.29 per litre in France.

Ryan May 24, 2012 at 10:21 pm

I have the corsa VXR but am changing it for the limited edition corsa 1.2. I am 20 and pay over £3500 for insurace and the money i spend on fuel is stupid.. why own a VXR when you can have a car that in my opinon looks no different apart from a few extras to this model. I will miss the VXR but for now its simply not affordable. One day im sure ill see the VXR again as it is every boys dream car but for now i have to say goodbye to it.

Gerry May 25, 2012 at 8:05 pm

Well i did go away and I did 450 miles. I had to refuel at 370 from a full tank. I did 210 miles of that on motorway at average of 85 mph the rest was on narrow country roads and in town. I caculated it all at about 41 mpg. Now for a car that only has a 1.2 litre engine and weighs over a tonne i dont think thats bad. I never take any notice of manufacturers mpg stats because they can create the ideal situation. I’m happy with my car, its got no faults and it does over 40 to the gallon all the time. Enjoy.

Gerry May 25, 2012 at 8:07 pm

Oh and i forgot to mention that it was this week. It was hot and sunny and I had the aircon on all week.

Ronald Bala May 28, 2012 at 1:58 pm

Thanks for your answer to my question Gerry. Well, for your information – 450 miles to a tank means 45.46 miles per gallon (mpg) – that is your tank would be really really empty.

I have the acurate computation of my mpg: I have done 383.5 miles using 40.50 litres (with 4.5 litres left in the tank) and my average is 43.05 mpg. I could have done a maximum of more or less 426 miles If i continued driving until i run out of petrol. I managed to get this mpg because usually i drive from 9 pm to 5 am as i work night shift, with an average of 13 miles london driving, 13 miles of A road and 20 miles of motorway. As i mentioned in my previous posts, I always don’t want to put my foot in the gas especially when driving off-that always annoy the vehicles behind me, always putting on neutral every time i see the lights hundreds of metres away, and not driving more than 60 miles on the motorway. Going home from work early in the morning is almost non stop so i always use my cruise control. Yes folks! getting more than 40 mpg is possible with this car.

dirk June 14, 2012 at 10:28 am

Had to take my car in to maindealer oil leak from the head.& fuel leak from the turbo, what a load of crap , and to top it they lend me a 1.2le petrol , had that slug 1 day took it back the next , 32mpg our works vans do over 34mpg , so they have given me a astra instead it does 41mpg , just see how long it takes to fix my car.

sam June 14, 2012 at 10:39 am

i have a 1.2 red le and i don’t know what all the fuss is about i get 44mpg on my way to work each day i do about 20 miles there and 20 back!

Mr Butterscotch June 15, 2012 at 9:48 pm

It seems there are some quite conflicting reports on the MPG available with this car. Please do keep providing more information.

Mercedes July 15, 2012 at 7:10 pm

Hi, I brought the limited ed 2 weeks ago in red and im finding the paint shockingly bad, (even with a protective coating they sold me) and finding that little stone chips and scratches are going straight down to the primer, unlike my 6yr old c1 paint is alot better and thats £10,000 cheaper! Has anyone else had a proble with the paint?

ash page July 16, 2012 at 10:49 pm

just ordered a red/black LE brand new. Got to wait 2 weeks for it. Any advice on the positives and negatives on this car? Many thanks

Candice February 28, 2013 at 6:40 pm

Hi, I have LE 2011, my car has been drinking the petrol for months, plus the handbrake sticks. In addition the engine has been making a noise, so booked it for a service and they informed me that it had no oil in it when the oil was checked a week ago. They are also saying that it may have to have a new engine and its my fault as I have been reckless. This car has only done 26,000 miles and 18 months old. What a joke this car looks good but is so slow and drinks the petrol, my audi 2litre did not drink the petrol as much as this car does. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR

Gerry February 28, 2013 at 11:50 pm

I also have a LE2011 and my car is perfect and i have no complaints at all.

Neill March 1, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Wow my last comment was May 7 2012, Bought my white LE 1/3/11, never had any problems with it loved to bits, a new edition to the family made me sell it 5 months ago for the new Meriva B 1.4T 140bhp, so for those of you that are getting a new LE then good luck and enjoy…..

Matt Hayman May 19, 2013 at 12:28 pm

walked into my local vauxhall dealer yesterday after seeing one of these second hand on the forecourt for £9995 with just over 12k miles on it, as i walked in they had just sold it, to say the least i was gutted, but they went through options with me for about 2 hours, and i walked out of there with a brand new ’13 plate LTD edition in white with added extra of bluetooth for just under 13k on 0% finance for 5 years, i pick it up next week once it’s all registered :) can’t Freaking wait :)

linda howard August 18, 2013 at 3:01 pm

l..inda Norfolk. I just brought a limited edition 1.2 corsa after my old car going in the garage every month with something else wrong. looking forward to the lifetime warranty with the new car yippee
