Dazzle Causing Problems?

February 3, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch 1 Comment

With the dark days of winter and the sun lying low in the sky, car care specialist, Armor All, has underlined the importance of clear vision to improve the margin of safety.

The significance of a clean windscreen is underlined by statistics which show that vision-related issues were the contributory cause of 10% of all UK road accidents last year, of which sun dazzle was the largest weather-related cause, responsible for over 2,600 accidents (according to Department of Transport: Contributory factors to reported road accidents, 2009).

Armor All recommends the regular use of its Glass Wipes, or the trigger spray equivalent, Glass Cleaner, to quickly and efficiently remove road film, smearing and contaminants from both inside and outside the screen. The company also advises on regular inspection of windscreen wipers, and timely replacement when needed.

The speediest and most effective one-step glass care solution, Armor All Glass Wipes, is available in a re-sealable canister of 25 wipes, priced at just £4.49, or in handy 15-wipe glovebox-sized pouches at £2.29. The more traditional 500ml trigger-spray Armor All Glass Cleaner is priced at £4.99. All are widely available nationwide, alongside the extensive Armor All car care range, from major stores, accessory shops and forecourts. For more information, visit www.armorall.eu/uk.

If you spend a lot of time on the road like I do, a spray tends to be a better choice.

I personally would also recommend treating the exterior of the screen with a water repellent product, which helps no end with visibility on wet conditions. There are a number around, most well known is Rain-X. However there are other products that provide superior results, and can last for a long time, particularly products from Nanolex, Aquapel and others
