FIVA has announced the full programme of 2016 events around the world that will benefit, in various ways, from UNESCO’s patronage of FIVA’s World Motoring Heritage Year (WMHY).
Mario Theissen, Senior Vice-President of FIVA, comments, “The huge and varied list of historic vehicle events, covering so many countries and so many types of vehicles – cars, motorcycles and utilitarians – demonstrates the overwhelming breadth of interest right across the world in protecting our automotive heritage, and the enthusiasm that greets UNESCO’s patronage of World Motoring Heritage Year 2016. Some events will see further presentations of the FIVA preservation awards, others are organised under the WMHY/UNESCO banner, while many simply bear the WMHY/UNESCO logos to show their fervent support for this very special year.”
