Beaulieu celebrates the super-sized world of trucks when Truckmania comes to the attraction on Sunday 29thand Bank Holiday Monday 30th May.
Stand amongst the giants of motoring when the popular event returns for its fourth year with a weekend of displays and activities the whole family will enjoy, in the picturesque grounds of the National Motor Museum.
Not one, but two monster trucks will be demonstrating their immense power with awesome displays. For monster thrills, watch as these big-wheeled creations, Big Pete and the Grim Reaper, flex their muscle by crushing cars throughout the event, before destroying a caravan on Bank Holiday Monday.
If you’re feeling strong, why not test your own mettle in the Beaulieu Truck Pull. Individuals and teams are invited to get hitched up to one of two truck cabs, before pulling them in a head-to-head contest across the Beaulieu arena.
A special feature for Bank Holiday Monday, Truck Agility will challenge drivers’ skills as they manoeuvre their cabs around a fiendishly tricky obstacle course.
On a smaller scale but equally astonishing, Mini Truck World in the Grand Marquee will recreate the real-life world of road haulage in miniature, as remote-controlled trucks act out everything that their full-sized counterparts do. In the Try a Mini Truck section of the show, visitors can also have a go at controlling a remote control truck.
The British Army will also return to Truckmania for 2016, with a display of its impressive modern combat trucks, designed to tackle any terrain.
Throughout the show, TV trucking personality Mark Dixon will be meeting visitors and drivers and discussing all things truck-related with event commentator Kevin Harris.
There will be plenty of trucking action as these giants of the road gather for the show, from tippers, curtain-sides, flat beds and horse boxes, to American haulers, articulated truck cabs, military-spec machines and all manner of specialist creations. Look out for classic trucks too and the bright liveries and custom paintwork on many of these colourful machines. Favourite marques such as Volvo, Scania, DAF, Iveco and Bedford are sure to be well-represented.
Show regular, Harris Transport, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary by bringing along 14 trucks which span the company’s history, while Dalton’s Transport will once again impress visitors with its artwork-adorned truck cabs.
On Sunday 29th, drivers will be able to parade their prized trucks around the arena. Throughout the show, visitors and drivers can vote for their favourite truck of the show in the People’s Choice Awards. On Bank Holiday Monday, the owner of the most popular truck will receive a commemorative Beaulieu trophy and a special Autoglym prize.
Not only does your admission ticket allow you to enjoy this action-packed event, but it also includes access to all of the features of the Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum, World of Top Gear, Palace House and Beaulieu Abbey.
