A Job Offer For Graduates From MG

March 20, 2012 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Graduate engineers who can meet the challenge of working on the next generation of MG cars are being sought.

They will work at the MG Birmingham site where MG’s parent company, SAIC Motor, has its European Technical Centre. Up to 10 graduates will be offered a two year training programme which includes an exciting three month placement in China.

The SAIC Motor Technical Centre (SMTC UK) work on the design and engineering of both MG and Roewe models. Roewe is SAIC’s own brand of cars which only sells in China, which is the world’s biggest car market.

SAIC is the largest automotive company in China and the eight largest in the world.

Successful candidates will be supported to achieve Chartered Engineer status through a Monitored Professional Development Scheme. Every graduate trainee will have an allocated mentor from among SMTC’s staff of more than 300 experienced engineers.

The recruitment drive starts today at a graduate recruitment event at Coventry University. SAIC representatives will also attend graduate recruitment fairs at the NEC in April and June and may attend events at other universities.

HR Manager, Louise Lane, said: “This is a tremendous opportunity that will provide the pathway to a great career in an exciting and challenging industry. We are looking for new graduates who will relish the chance of furthering their professional training while making a major contribution to the future of MG and Roewe cars.”

The scheme will begin in September. Candidates should have a minimum of a 2:1 degree in engineering or automotive design. In return they will be offered an attractive salary and benefits.

Take a look at the website for more information and for how to apply.
