I’d be interesting to know what you all think of the review above. I actually quite like the mini 4×4 looks – it’s a bit more ‘honest’ than the X3 (which according to some has very little off-road ability too) and it isn’t being sold as a ‘go everywhere, do anything’ vehicle. Rather, an upmarket 4 wheel drive vehicle that’s a deal smaller than oversized hippos such as an X5 or an Audi Q7 (what a monster of the road!).
I’m actually quite interested in the X1 – though I do agree with one particular point in the review, regarding pricing. I definitely don’t have the required £30,000 for this particular model, but if Graham from the office is right that it doesn’t have a particularly strong market position, then maybe I’ll get one a lot cheaper in a few years.

October 11, 2011 at 2:29 amI bought the BMW X1 2.0 Diesel version, let me tell you this. I live in Chile and went sking to the Andes a couple months ago, it was snowing and with a lot of ice. This car worked bautifully, many cars where on the side puting chains to the tires but not this one.
Great car, creat 4×4.

I definitely think that the X1 has grown on me. I stand by my original comment though – it is far too expensive!
