Britain’s Best Driver’s Cars will take to the Live Action Arena at the Performance Car Show, running alongside Autosport International at Birmingham’s NEC from 9-12 January.
Led by supercars such as the 468bhp Porsche 911 GT3 and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, the fastest car ever to leave its HQ in Warwickshire, ten cars will parade through the 5,000-seat Live Action Arena. Based on power, poise and the unexplainable ‘x-factor’, the vehicles were selected by leading motoring publication Autocar.
Also assembling in the arena will be the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG, featuring the most powerful four-cylinder engine in production, as well as the Toyota GT86, Jaguar F-TYPE S, Porsche Cayman S and Ford Fiesta ST Mountune.
Ariel, Caterham and Radical will showcase track cars that have been taken to the next level with the Atom 3.5 SC, the 311bhp supercharged Seven 620R and Radical’s RXC, a car that was launched at Autosport International 2013 and offers one of the most extreme driving experiences available on public roads.
“It’s been another excellent year for new car releases and Autocar has compiled a fantastic range of models for all Performance Car Show attendees, spanning a diverse range of power and style. The experience will be further enhanced by video footage on a giant 90-metre video wall,” said show director Ian France.
The Performance Car Show in association with Autocar and PistonHeads.com will also let fans feel the need for speed for themselves. The governing body of UK motorsport, the Motor Sports Association, will offer free passenger rides in a selection of vehicles racing against the clock in a special AutoSolo, as part of its award-winning Go Motorsport campaign.
AutoSolo challenges are held regularly at car clubs across the country, offering drivers from 16 years of age the chance to compete using their own road-going cars. It therefore offers one of the most affordable forms of motorsport.
The Performance Car Show 2014 at Birmingham’s NEC will also include Autocar’s supercar display, the PistonHeads.com Heroes Display, the Kit Car Pavilion and new car launches, including the UK debut of the Abarth 595 50th Anniversary Edition.
The Performance Car Show is part of Autosport International, Europe’s biggest motorsport show, hosting motorsport legends such as John Surtees, the only person to have claimed world championship titles of both two and four wheels, former Formula 1 driver and Sky Sports F1 presenter Martin Brundle and newly crowned BTCC champion Andrew Jordan.
Tickets are now on sale, from £31 for adults and £20 for children. For more information, call 0800 581 1419 or visit www.performancecarshow.com.
