The BBC is reporting the fact that a mooted fuel strike that was planned for Easter has now been ruled out by the union Unite. The government has given out some indicators to the public of probable useful actions (such as ensuring that your fuel tank doesn’t drop to less than a half) however this has seen demand rise up and down the country.
My own experience has been of some difficulty even on getting on to fuel forecourts, so busy have they been. At least two local stations have been closed completely whilst they await re-supply. Of course, this is all rather a false economy. The country is only geared toward coping with a certain level of supply/demand and this is being upset even before any kind of industrial action has taken place.
My advice? Do NOT panic buy. Purchase as you need. Consider however buying perhaps £10 more of fuel than you normally would if you can afford it. Take into account if you have any longer journeys coming up and plan accordingly. Do NOT store fuel unsafely and if in doubt do not do it at all.
it was crazy the reaction from people, it wasn’t needed and after all that they won’t be striking over a very busy time of the year so good news for all
