At the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Infiniti is set to unveil something really rather special – the retro protoype. As you can see from the image above, it looks a bit like a 1950’s Formula One car with modern day sleek lines. A BAC Mono with the body style of a classic race car?
Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President, Global Design had the following to say:
“It started as a simple thought– what if we found a car, down at the Southern tip of Japan, buried deep in a barn, hidden from all eyes for 70 years. What if in this car we found the seed of passion planted during our first Japanese Grand Prix and the power and artistry of INFINITI today? What would this discovery look like?”
We humbly suggest that the concept is an excellent one and something that other manufacturers could perhaps emulate. We at Car Articles cannot wait to see more of this really rather special prototype. Imagine a single manufacturer race series!
