Over 70% of Brits would like to see the Police given the power to prosecute motorists who ‘hog’ the middle lane on the motorway according to a new survey by Motorpoint.
The poll by the car supermarket giant found 73% of people would welcome new laws that penalised so-called ‘middle lane morons’ who cause delays on the motorway network by refusing to move out of the middle lane. Over 1,990 people participated in the online study.
Says Paul Winfield, Operations Director of Motorpoint: “Middle lane motorists have been the scourge of our roads for years, and it is clear from our poll, that Brits have now simply had enough, and want the Police to given the power to do something about it, if people refuse to move over into the inside lane.”

March 3, 2009 at 12:16 pmIt’s about time too! No-one likes a middle laner but there are still a lot of people who drive in the middle lane on the motorway without realising they should use the left lane. Fine them!
