Apparently, in several parts of the country including Kent and East Sussex, SUV and 4×4 vehicles are being targeted by would be thieves. Five thefts were reported over three days, in Sussex, highlighting the scale of the problem. TRACKER, the UK’s leader provider of stolen vehicle recovery solutions (SVR), urges all car owners to take steps to protect their vehicles.
“Land Rovers and other 4x4s are popular vehicles, making them a prime target for thieves, who may break them down for spare parts,” explains Stuart Chapman of TRACKER. “We already work closely with the UK’s police forces, which use our market leading SVR technology to identify and locate stolen vehicles. Through the power of this relationship, TRACKER continues to help police make arrests and bring car thieves to justice, as well reuniting car owners with their vehicles. Installing a TRACKER device can significantly increase the chance of police locating and returning a stolen vehicle. Last year we helped recover 41 Land Rovers worth in excess of £1.3 million. With thieves actively targeting 4x4s in certain areas, owners of these types of vehicles should think about installing a tracking device. In many of the cases we deal with, vehicles are hidden in garages and warehouses. Without having TRACKER devices installed, many of these vehicles would have been lost for good, highlighting their importance in the fight against car theft.”
TRACKER with the police has to date recovered over £464 million worth of stolen vehicles and continues to recover on average £1 million worth of stolen vehicles each month.
