Simply Land Rover – Beaulieu 2017

May 8, 2017 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

A British Army Air Corps’ fully operational Land Rover equipped as a camouflaged mobile radio unit will be on show as part of an impressive line-up at Beaulieu’s Simply Land Rover on Sunday 25th June.

Now in its fifth year, the celebration of one of the oldest and best-loved off-roading marques attracts every derivative of the nation’s favourite 4×4 to join the show in the grounds of the National Motor Museum.

From the simple and rugged Series I, right up to the latest Discovery and Range Rover models, every era of Land Rover’s 69-year history will be represented.

The classic Defender and Series I, II and III designs are always at the heart of the event, with immaculate show-winners, daily drivers and weekend off-road toys taking their places in the display. Expect the hugely popular Discovery to also feature strongly, as well as the iconic Range Rover.

Regulars the Solent & District Land Rover Club will also return for 2017 with a varied showcase of its members’ vehicles. Whether you plan to play Land Rover ‘I spy’ or just catch up with other Land Rover fans, Simply Land Rover is a popular day out which notched up a record turn-out of nearly 1,000 visitors last year.

As part of the rally, Beaulieu’s Forest Drive offers the chance for drivers to practice their off-road skills. Held in partnership with Land Rover Experience West Country, this separately charged feature allows Land Rover owners to try out their vehicles on the off-road course, while those without their own Land Rover can drive or ride in a Land Rover Experience vehicle. For more details, including prices and terms and conditions, visit www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-land-rover.

Later in the day, visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite Land Rover of the event in the People’s Choice Award. The owner of the most popular Land Rover will be presented with a commemorative Beaulieu trophy and a special Autoglym prize.

Tickets for rally participants, who will be displaying their Land Rover in the event, are £10 an adult and £5 a child and can be bought on arrival at Beaulieu, or online in advance at www.beaulieu.co.uk/events. Entry into the Beaulieu parkland for participants is from 9.30am, when the Brabazon Restaurant will be serving hot and cold drinks and breakfast snacks. All other attraction visitors should enter through the Beaulieu Visitor Reception building, which is open from 10am.

For Land Rover clubs wishing to book a club stand, contact the Beaulieu Events team at least two weeks before the event on 01590 614614 or at [email protected]. Friends who want to park up together at the show must all arrive together.

Included in the admission ticket is access to all of the Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum and its collection of more than 250 vehicles, the World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House – which has been home to the Montagu family since 1538 – and its stunning grounds and gardens.

Simply Land Rover is one of eight Simply rallies, including Simply Jaguar, Simply Japanese and Simply Smart. Each event celebrates a particular marque or motoring theme, giving enthusiasts and attraction visitors the chance to see some of their favourite machines close up.
