In the current climate of economic instability, the UK pulling from the EU and various other impact factors, people are downsizing. Not necessarily in literal size, but in terms of how much they spend, how often they spend etc. Sometimes, that might mean the two or three car family drops to one car. Now, if that’s the case, you’ll need a car that is capable of just about everything. Which is exactly where the Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC Estate steps in.
Granted, this isn’t a cheap car. I’d ask you to find me a Mercedes-Benz that is. It also isn’t a small car. However, what it is, is a fire breathing 3 litre biturbo monster with a sprint from 0-62 in less than five seconds. This might seem like a misnomer when we’re talking about downsizing, but the point is this – you surely want a car that can do everything?
The Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC Estate has space, pace, head turning looks and four wheel drive. You can even spec it with an extra two rear facing seats for children under 115 centimetres in height. Useful stuff that. The 12 inch touch screen in the centre console isn’t half bad either.
Look, at around £60,000 this car isn’t cheap. That’s a lot of money. But it is tough to put a price on quality, luxury and refinement. These are attributes you’ll see in spades as soon as you step into this new E class. The AMG variant is just the icing on the cake, which is why this is the ‘Something for the Weekend’ for October 2016.
