VW Commercial Vehicles Takes On New Apprentices

December 10, 2015 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

While Lord Sugar continues to fire his apprentices in the popular BBC show, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has been busy hiring its latest batch of recruits for its own highly-successful apprentice programme.

Forty-five new apprentices recently joined Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Apprentice Programme, and were formally welcomed into the Volkswagen Group at the annual induction event at the Volkswagen National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes in November.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offers apprentice programmes for Service Technicians and Parts and Service Advisors, with courses running for either two or three years.

Overall the Volkswagen Group employs 883 apprentices across all of its brands, with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles currently employing 90 of these within its 96 Van Centres and Authorised Repairers across the UK.

The induction day provides an opportunity to experience the Volkswagen National Learning Centre for the first time, to meet fellow recruits and learn much more about the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand and product range. The day also allows the new intake to meet other apprentices who are already on the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles programme.

Tom Langley, People Development Manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, commented: “It is great to see all our new recruits coming together, ready to learn new skills and gain experience that will allow them to excel in their careers. Our apprentice programme is a great opportunity for those wanting to get into a career in automotive, learning not only technical skills but also the importance of customer focus, team work and problem solving.”
