Toyota Launches Dream Car Competition For 2011

October 12, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Children around the world have simply the best imaginations. They are not fettered by the chains of an adult existence and when it comes to imagining the future direction for cars, there is simply no stopping what they can come up with. It’s a pity more of us don’t look back at that to see […]

October 9, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Car Articles has previously covered the issue of apparent handbrake failure in some makes of Vauxhall car in two separate articles, namely here – http://www.cararticles.co.uk/uk-vauxhall-hit-by-renewed-faulty-handbrake-alarm.html and here – http://www.cararticles.co.uk/uk-vauxhall-handbrake-problem-part-2.html It looks as though some of you may be getting some satisfaction, though granted this is some years on from the original complaint. Winter Is Coming, So Check These Five Important Things

October 6, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Poor weather is on the way. This includes wind, rain and there’s a forecast for snow this month too (I know, after this sunny reprieve as well!). Cars do not simply maintain themselves. With that in mind, here are five things I’d recommend checking regularly as we come into poorer weather and darker nights: 1) […]

Poor Road Surfaces Still Getting You Down?

October 3, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Here’s the latest from Carparts-Direct.co.uk regarding the wonderful state of British roads! Councils across the UK are shelling out every day to irate motorists. £200 is the average compensation for vehicles damaged by potholes. There were 22,000 successful claims last year alone. And it’s all taxpayers’ money. Shoddy road maintenance costs drivers 6 times more […]

The BAC Mono – A Single Seat Supercar For The Road

September 30, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Volkswagen Racing Cup 2011 at Donnington Park, which was an absolutely great day out (article to follow shortly). Whilst there, I heard a rumour that a unique car would be on display. The vehicle in question was the BAC Mono. Just before the lunchtime break, I turned […]

A Designer Reworks The Ferrari 458 Italia

September 29, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Olivier Demangel is a 3D artist. He’s created some concept redesigns of the Ferrari 458 Italia that are extremely pretty indeed. You can see them on his website. My favourite is the redesign in white, which looks almost like a mix between the Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C.

Why No Box Junction?

September 28, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

In my opinion, nothing can cause greater chaos on roads than when the layout has been poorly designed. The city in which I live has some road networks that appear to have been thought through by some sort of madman, what with car lanes, no car lanes and access routes crossing over each other at […]

Early Winter Is Coming To UK Shores – Is Your Car ‘Snow’ Good?

September 25, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

Motorpoint is offering some fantastic deals on vehicles that are appropriate for the terrible winter we are likely to be facing this year. Here are the details below: Being stuck in adverse weather is ‘snow joke’, but the trusty 4×4 Chevrolet Captiva, with its seven seats, should help to keep your whole family mobile even […]

Can You Afford Power?

September 22, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

I have been an advocate of faster motors for as long as I can remember. It’s not just about power though. You’ll normally get better handling, bigger brakes and smarter kit. These days though, with fuel prices being what they are, is it worth it? Or, do you now look for a basic, entry level […]

September 20, 2011 by Mr Butterscotch Leave a Comment

We all know that Local Authorities are suffering cutbacks. They aren’t except – in the same way that nowhere in the country is safe in the current economic climate. So, what about the safety of children provided by school crossing patrols? The Telegraph has an excellent article looking at the impact that cuts may have […]
