Not exactly what you’d have thought at the end of last year is it? Where are the Ferraris in this mix? Nowhere to be seen, much to the shock of probably everyone on the grid. So, what are your predictions for the China Grand Prix tomorrow? I have to say, I’m not sure at all what to expect. With the rear diffuser debacle now at a close and many teams either already running with the technology or other improvements to make things a tad more equal, it should be a much more interesting race than simply watching the slightly dreary Button zip off to victory in his clearly superior car.
The top three of the starting grid, Vettel, Alonso and Webber (in that order) should actually be able to hang on to their positions near the top of the grid. However, after the last couple of races, you just can’t discount Jenson Button. Ironically, McLaren and Ferrari are languishing around the middle of the grid, however I expect to see Hamilton to show a more aggressive style in the actual race, as his car has clearly improved since the last Grand Prix.
I’m going to say that Vettel may well manage to keep his top spot, with Button in second, Webber in third, Alonso in fourth, Trulli in fifth, Rosberg in sixth and Hamilton in seventh. I’ve made no bones about the fact that I’m a Hamilton fan though, so I do hope I’m actually wrong on his particular position there…
