Or, to ask another question, what sort of driver are you? Interestingly, whilst I’m sometimes a little ‘overeager’ and somewhat obsessive in my automotive passions, my folks couldn’t care a less. Worse still, my mother is actually scared of motorways, especially in the evening. Are you this type of driver? It does make me wonder, as, after all, motorways are actually statistically the safest place to drive. I suppose though for some there’s the extra fear of ending up with a conked out car somewhere on the hard shoulder.
So, to return to the title question, just how far are you going this weekend? I expect that I’ll be wracking up another 100 miles or so, but they’ll all be strictly on two wheels – depending on the weather of course. Whilst my kit my be all waterproof, there’s still the added worry of loss of grip. I’ll be heading up north a bit, maybe to Amble, or possibly Berwick.
How about you? Do you have any journeys planned? Does bad weather or late night motorway driving put you off? Are you a weekend track day hero or someone who knows nothing beyond where to put the petrol and the basic controls?
