Auto Express is reporting that, owing to continuing declining sales, Subaru will no longer officially be selling their Impreza or WRX STi models here in the UK. The level of sales simply hasn’t been there to continue with the models and with fairly inefficient engines, average (though much improved over previous generations) interiors and a lot of serious competition, it is not hard to see why.
However, everyone who grew up with the classic rallying of the 1990’s will feel very sad about this I’m sure. For me, it is definitely the end of an era. I’d still love a WRX STi and few cars are probably as real world quick point to point.
So, is the B-road blast something consigned to history? Are we all destined to pootle around in average crossover vehicles – for which seem to account for every other car on the road? Or are we all just too skint to afford something with power and performance?
