Mitsubishi ASX
Crossovers are extremely popular at the moment, with many manufacturers bringing out new models this year in what has become one of the most competitive market sectors.
The ASX is the motor from Mitsubishi, and offers performance, economy and a choice of two or four wheel drive. It also comes with a class leading 5 star Euro N cap rating.
Perhaps most interesting is the ClearTec low emissions package, which includes Auto Stop & Go, alternator Generation Control System, efficient tyre technology and regenerative braking – all of which are designed for low power consumption and, consequently, lower emissions.
The diesel engine is also conspicuous by design – the 1.8 litre is Euro 5 complaint for emissions but better yet, it’s the first to feature variable valve timing on a passenger car. Sounds very promising.
Overall, the ASX is quite a promising package. I’ll certainly keep you updated when I have more information.
