I’m currently on a little holiday, taking time off from my busy schedule for a little rest and recuperation. I didn’t set off too early and unfortunately hit rush hour, which I have a strange knack of doing. That wasn’t a problem though, I just took it in my stride.
However, the thing that did annoy me was the 50mph average speed camera zone, that appeared to stretch for miles in both north and south directions.
My question remains, as it always does, is just why this is in force if there are no workforce whatsoever anywhere near the road? The only workers I could see were those who were separated from the road by massive concrete blocks – even a Hilux wouldn’t have smashed through.
So, I ask the government and staff – if your road is going to take 2 years to finish and you are requesting a speed limit to lower danger to workers, why on earth does it have to apply when the workers are not there?
