Porsche Panamera

In case you’ve missed the hype, the Porsche Panamera is the latest car set to come from the Germany automotive giant.  However, it is rather different from most other Porsches, in that it comes with four doors.  What?  Yes, you did indeed read that right.

So, what’s the story so far?  Well, back in September the Panamera ‘Online Magazine’ (don’t you just hate that term) appeared, giving more info on the latest Porsche as well as videos of disguised prototypes out on test drives.

The next coverage you’ll see will be the front end of the car sticking out from behind a pillar looking out to the rest of the Porsche family – this will appear in various magazines and shows the front end at least looks like a Porsche – though who knows about the rest of it.

Apparently, the Porshe Panamera has a “very special space concept for four adults”, so I’m very interested in seeing that.  Whether it has any resemblance to the concept behind the Aston Martin Rapide (at least with regard to how it uses the interior space) remains to be seen – but they certainly both look extremely sleek and usable.

As a Gran Turismo car, the Panamera is something that is certainly worth getting excited about as it looks to be showing all the hallmarks of a ‘proper’ Porsche – even if I’m still a little concerned about that Megane-esque fat rear end.  In saying that, when is the last time that Porsche produced a rotten auto?
