The Mail Online has an excellent (and harrowing) account of one man’s encounter with the most nightmarish of situations on the road – running over a child. It is certainly thought provoking and puts a nod in the direction of lowering urban speed limits to 20mph. Perhaps after reading it you’ll agree.

Yes, the part that convinced me was:
She rang me a few minutes later to tell me that she and her nephew were both well and to thank me for not driving fast.
The difference of 10mph can make the difference between that and the pain of tragedy.
MOT G you’re completely right – it’s just a shame that many people don’t realise this when they go haring around. As long as there isn’t anyone else around that next corner, everything is fine. But of course, as with everything else in life, there are simply no guarantees.
Very unforgettable experienced, it is only means that everything are unpredictable and we must always alert.
