Technology is great, isn’t it? I’m sitting drinking a good coffee, using free wifi in my local coffee shop to write this post on my phone. And yet… It’s problematic typing on this device for any length of time.
The shape of the device is awkward; the ergonomics are wrong for typing an extensive piece of prose. I haven’t got cramp in my hands yet but I may get it soon.
So why am I doing this? Simply put, my usually reliable laptop has finally let me down. After years of solid use, ‘Mr Blonde’ as I named it has quit. I wonder how many words I typed on that keyboard. It’s almost the end of an era.
This is the reason for the apparent lack of posts recently. But where is the car analogy I hear you ask? Simply put, cars are too complex these days. People lack education about our means of
transport.
As cars get safer, people seem to know less. We can no longer check under the bonnet; instead we need a laptop and diagnostic software.
Take my advice. Take out your manual and have a peruse. You might just learn something before your car has its own Mr Blonde moment.
