It seems that the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be host to quite a large number of premier showings and Ferrari has entered the fray with the Ferrari 458 Speciale and the Ferrari California T.
Starting with the California T, this is model that has seen some short shrift with some going so far to say that it doesn’t represent a ‘proper’ Ferrari. However, this model T variant features a hugely powerful engine with a turbocharger bolted on, meaning lower emissions and greater power. All will agree that this is a winning combination I’m sure!
The 458 Speciale is a car that’s in a different league from just about everything else. It features advanced technical solutions for the powertrain, aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics. It is the first regular production Ferrari to have active aerodynamic devices on the rear diffuser, as well as mobile aerodynamic devices at the front, and it is these elements which set it apart from the 458 Italia from which it is derived to an extent unprecedented in the previous 360 Challenge Stradale and 430 Scuderia special series. The 458 Speciale’s performance is exceptional across the board, with acceleration from 0-62.5mph in 3 seconds and a Fiorano lap time of 1:23:5.
Also on show this year is the F12berlinetta – a multi-award winning seriously powerful GT car.
This year’s FoS is shaping up to be very special indeed.
